Is this about Cricket?
|

Close, Kashmir violence and fighting. (However, both sides have managed to draw cricket into the dispute. Glad they understand their priorities.)

I deal with Indian suppliers all the time. I travel to India every year or so.
If they make a mistake they will never acknowledge it. If you email them with a problem they just wont answer. It can get very frustrating.
But at the same time they are mostly good people. I have lots of friends that Ive made over the years. I suppose they get frustrated when dealing with the U.S. as well.
Overall you take the good with the bad.
|
|
^^Unfortunately the bad includes nukes and terrorist organizations.
|
|
But how do you get them to wear shoes?
|

Dirty Cat, Tramp will eventually piss off both of them...some way, some how

Boy, when people get upset about how tribal and jingoistic Americans get have not visited these two countries.
India has elections coming up so need to bring out the nationalistic drumbeat. Pakistan, of course, has lost control of itself and is heading toward becoming Afghanistan-lite.

We should be spending our time and money preventing people from working across our border! MAGA! (Make All Gates Anti-opening)

You have to understand India and Pakistan's history. At the height of the Mughal Empire in the late 17th century, India was the largest economic power in the world. When Great Britain granted independence to the region in 1947, it was significantly poorer than it had been before British interference, and a series of famines in the region were due to British management rather than natural catastrophe.
The British encouraged divisions between Hindu and Muslim Indians by their ‘divide and rule’ approach and tensions between the two groups grew at the time of independence. Muslims were a minority in most of the region and feared Hindu rule; they wanted their own homeland. There was mounting violence between the two groups at the time of partition, particularly in Kashmir, which was ultimately separated by what was supposed to be a temporary Line of Control, but which remains bitterly disputed today and remains the de facto border.
The Muslim regions were divided into East Pakistan and West Pakistan; the latter is called Bangladesh today. All were formerly part of the British Raj, and before that, were many little kingdoms ruled by various Mughal (today's word "mogul" comes from that language) rulers.
Unfortunately for the prospect of peace in the region, the mullahs in the Muslim areas and the radicals within the Hindu community hold significant public sway, and inflame the locals with radicalizing accusations against the other in both India and Pakistan. Ripples of violence continue to erupt in the region today, the worst of which is the Kashmir dispute between two nuclear powers.

Jews And Arabs trace themselves back to a common ancestor. Lot more sand to make glass in the middle East.

People will fight over differences rather than celebrate similarities. It took awhile to quiet the different brands of Christian in northern Ireland.

Well, be cleared the air about burnsie being racist. Now can we get clarification on him being "nobody's bitch"
|
|
Burnsie, did you know that camels actually originated in North America?
Yup. They are native to right here in the North American region since about 40 million years ago.
They migrated from here into Asia around 4 million years ago via the Bering Strait land bridge during an ice age. From there they spread south and west into Asia and still later migrated into the Middle East and North Africa.
I haven't read of anyone postulating that the first camel-jockeys were Native Americans. But it's kind of a cool visual cartoon to imagine...
