rather than blame the victim, I applaud Kai for speaking out and share her unsafe experience with another member here... let the accused respond if he has evidence contrary to Kai’s. Regardless of who you think is at fault, Kai’s merely using the tools available to protect herself from further harm while letting others know about the guy.
Like the legal disclaimer says, HX is a social networking site, and we should all be diligent and look out for other hobbyists.

Fubar, is there a mechanism that would prevent repeat offenders like this “coolguy” from registering again? Based on what Kai and Kayleigh have shared, seems like he’s using another handle to cause harm, and all the research on past blogs and ratings dings wouldn’t do any good if he’s just going to use another ID.

LCG, Hime, Fubar, et al... I was asking out of curiosity, just to learn more about the functionalities that may already exist but I was not aware of.
Given the symbiotic relationship between the ladies and gents inherent on this site, I would think any security enhancements can only further user engagement and membership retention.
The message signaling an ID had a previous handle was a great step forward, with the understanding it’s impossible to have full transparency unless one go through an in person interview/screen process, perhaps a combination of identifiers (birthday + credit card used to unlock messages) can be used to prevent a shady member from rejoining the site within 60 ~ 90 days? Just my 2 cents worth.

and how does a site verify someones birthday? and you can use prepaid credit card...not to mention credit card is not even needed to open up an account
in a nutshell, there's NO WAY a site can prevent someone from opening up an online account without some degree of nvasion of personal privacy.

God dammit, FUBAR, what the fuck happened to number 7? How can I seriously consider number 8 without knowing what number 7 is? Click on network, see if anyone is saying they are unsafe. If so, pm the person and wait to hear back from them before you move forward. Yes, even if it takes 5 years wait.
2. Click "Blogs about..." on the persons profile to see if anyone else has posted things about the person that might suggest you avoid the fuck out of them.
3. Click "Blogs by..." on the persons profile to see what kind of shit they post about, if they are always involved in drama you might want to avoid them.
4. Do a fucking google search on their handle, phone, email, etc., etc., and see if anything pops up.
5. If all else fails pm some of the people in their network you trust and ask them about the person.
6. Delete your handle, you're to fucking stupid or lazy to look out for yourself so there is obviously no better way to screen.
8. Ignore everything above this and just trust the good in people.

Piling up dings on him ?! No actually I don’t have that kind of time on my hands.I’m stating facts to protect other ladies in the community . I know the other person I saw that day and have seen him many times without issue , but couldn’t say for certain if it was one or the other so I didn’t act on anything , after seeing this blog and that he’s given fake bills in the past it confirmed my suspicions and made my 99% 100% and I redlined him . Also a friend called me after seeing my comments and said he did the same to her but that he was super sneaky about it and she couldn’t say 1000% either. So I’m sure she too will redline him.

I agree with Paying4School
Keep the bad guys with their original handles on here so we are able to see the negative ratings and are able to reach out to the girls that gave it to them and get more info on the guys.
