"Airplanes are becoming far too complex to fly." Mar 12 2019 09:52AM more by notsofast

That's from the Prez after two 737's fell out of the sky.
Is he right? Are planes too complicated? Seems like pilots just pretend to inspect the plane, take off, land, and fuck the stewardesses these days. Seems like an easy job if all goes as planned.
Does this Idiot Of The United States not understand the consequences of what he says will affect the market, let alone the drooling Luddites who follow his every word as Gospel and make snap judgements about this?
For crying out loud, there will be religious extremists who will want to ban all flying altogether because they are that dumb.
At one point in time almost all of the commercial airline pilots were experienced ex-military pilots. Currently there are more pilots without military experience flying than in the past. The average skill level is not what it was in the past. In other words there are fewer Sullys around capable of landing a plane on the Hudson River.
In part to compensate for the lower skill levels airplane manufacturers have been making planes more automated and closer to almost being able to fly without a pilot.
Are the planes too complicated, the pilots not skilled enough, both or neither?
The 737MAX is the latest generation of the 737 released in 2016. This version of the 737 has many changes from previous versions especially in terms of automation.
The big issue we are facing today is that automation allows the airlines to hire pilots that were not as well trained in the basic of aviation as in generations past. They don't fully understand how to pilot the plane without automation, nor do they fully understand how the automation works and how to sense or troubleshoot when it does not work.
I sense these crashes will be the result of poorly trained pilots and possible automation that is not working right in all situations.
Pilot error most likely cause . I’ll trained pilots flying with it enough rest Ailrlines thing to squeeze out every penny out of each flight . Not enough Sullys around anymore , pilots that actually know how to fly!
Hell, I don't know one way or the other, but what I do know is that too many people have so much to say about shit they know nothing about. Just ask President Trump...
There was a software update being worked on in January. Because of the government shutdown the FAA and Boeing were delayed 5 weeks. They expect the update will be ready by april. I'm not going to blame trump. The whole shutdown was stupid and for nothing.
Thinking: like what he tweets about the Max 8, the presidency is too complicated for Trump to fly it. Indicating an obvious need for a Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System (MCAS) that is not Mike Pence, or Mitch McConnell.
