I went to a late show on opening weekend and the theater was full, but it didn’t have the energy that other Marvel movies have had. I think it’s a combination of factors, but mostly it’s that Captain Marvel isn’t as big of a charcacter as the main Avengers or Spider-Man. I went because I know this movie plays a big part in the next Avengers movie, which will not have empty theaters the second weekend.

People gaming the weekend box office numbers to look good???? Naaaaah, no way. Movie industry too honest for that. That would be like people cheating to get into good colleges...doesn't happen in this country. Japan, China, or India maybe, but not us.

Captain Marvel has quite a bit of history with X-Men characters, namely Mystique & Rogue.
With Disney owning the Fox Marvel characters, Mystique & Rogue can easily appear in Captain Marvel sequels.
