Coming to HX to whine about equality, racism, sexism, opportunity, civil rights, etc... is a lot like going to the Special Ed class for input on String Theory. After you finish your cosmological rant.... the class looks at you and says, “I want juice.”
Lastly....
The greatest thing about America besides freedom is opportunity. A great idea... a lot of hard work, willingness to risk, determination and a lucky break here and there and ANYONE can become successful.
I know people from every race, socio-ecconomic group, religion, ethnicity and culture that have become significantly successful. I know millionaires with 75 iq. I have friend who is black as used motor oil, dumb as a post. He can’t write a coherent sentence. He can’t tell you how many states make up the U.S. He can’t tell the difference between Kanye, Kelly Ann Conway, Corey Booker or Paul Ryan. But he started a trash pick-up business when he was 17. For the next 17 years he built his business. Worked 7 days a week. He had 102 trucks, contracts with small 13 cities. In 1992, at 35 years old, he sold it to a large trash conglomerate for 175 million. His quote to people, “Quit bitchen and go to work.”
Now he is in his early 60s. He’s traveled the world. He digs fresh water wells for the impoverished people in Ghana, Nigeria, Sudan, Mauritania. He is digging 6 wells in China in 2019. And if you happen upon his 25 acre estate in Bradbury... he will invite in for some sweet tea.... and by the time you leave you will realize most of the news you watch and read is bullshit designed to make you dependent on them. The titalalte youso you have to watch... then they control your outlook on the world.
The biggest problem is people have shitty ideas... little determination or a poor work ethic. They are missing a key ingredient for success.... but they complain that they are being “held back.”
A successful business person can sit down with a whiner and in 5 minutes be able to tell exactly why they are failing. And very rarely is it because of an “ism.”
Which brings up the worst thing about America. My shitty life is always someone else’s fault.
