Trump's comments about forest management and cutting off aid to California were not in proper context -- he did not say it right, nor did he say quite the right thing. Allow me to state his point.
Our forests in California and elsewhere are mismanaged. Everywhere we turn, there are people who are so-called environmentalists who demand that the forests remain untouched. Previously, loggers could go in and cut a percentage of the old growth out, providing for better health, more sun, and more water for the trees left behind. A healthy forest.
Now, the forest grows too thick and many of the trees are unhealthy due to being too close together and fighting each other for the available ground water -- and not getting enough for either one. Either they die, or one dies, or both are excessively dry. The dead ones cannot be cleared out either.
Any time the government attempts to clear out the dead trees or allow loggers to thin out the forest to it becomes more healthy, some liberal floats his douche canoe down to the Federal courthouse, files a lawsuit, and gets an injunction stopping the action.
The forests end up as a tinder box and the first sparks turns the entire place into a nuclear blast area.
Trump is right -- we have to manage the forests better. But threatening to cut of aid to fire victims? Not the best approach...at least today.

Can someone please tell Mr. Trump, California doesn't have Forest fires. We have wildfires that burn dried brush and neighborhoods.
Theres no logging industry here. No one is really affect if the mountian burns, its when thousands of people are burned out of their home is what matters .

1. The Woolsey fire started in the suburbs and had nothing to do with forests
2. The Camp fire was started by PG&E power lines, and was initially fueled by grass in an area where trees had already been thinned out.
3. More than half of California's forests are OWNED by the FEDERAL government, and it's that owner's responsibility to manage or mismanage the land.
4. If Trump "cut off aid" to California, and Californians cut off their aid to D.C., Californians would come out ahead because California pays more in federal taxes than it receives in federal funding.
