All the red has been a bit annoying, but you have to be invested. I do have a chunk from some loser stocks I dumped, looking for a buy on the dip opportunity, but the market is so volatile is going took be hard to find the right time.
But, yes, really what the chimp says.

I short stocks through InterActive Brokers Platform. 10 more trading days of below 400 points would be the greatest Chris-Mukkah present ever but I would be equally happy if Disco 75 got a Parkinsons- Alzheimers combo.

As long as we're fighting China and their economy slides, we will have big down days. And because the Dow, etc are so high, WE GOT PLENTY OF ROOM TO FALL. Oh, and remember that little Russia investigation thingy...when that report (and indictments?) are released we could fall (or rise?) even more.
Better buckle your seatbelts...we're in for a bumpy ride.

the interest rates you are talking about is the interest the bank pays you for having money in a savings account.
when the feds raise interest rates it's what the fed charges for banks borrowing money from the fed reserve. The banks then offset that cost by charging borrowers more for borrowing money in the form of a higher interest rate.
it's suppose to slow the economy down. or keep it from getting to hot and creating a bubble.
stupid thing is the stock market is already sitting on a massive bubble created by the feds and The Obama administration

The fed also affects the rate you pay on your mortgage and credit cards. If it costs more to borrow you wont buy as much. Obviously someone wasnt paying attention in their econ money and banking class.

Always remember whatever goes up it has to come down. That also goes to stocks market, housing and other similar things. Tech maybe making a correction for now but it will crash just like real estate market already feeling the slow down.
But no one can really tell but time will tell.

OK, let's re-cap the week on Wall Street. Dow down about 1,200 points in a week which usually sees a rise. Oil prices dropping faster than Fub's pants causing unease on Wall Street. But Dow still above 24,000 so we have plenty of room to drop in Dec.
Things not lookin good for the MAGA side. And then Jan. and the new House...
More and more Wall Street types looking for a decline in 2019.
