Pete thanks! Yeah basically something that can also handle bones. I have this dumbass that'll throw everything into the disposal with lamb or chicken bone fragments and the cleaning lady won't clean out the unit if it's not working

3/4 horsepower InSinkErator. Most of you will be too young to have seen this, but they used to have ads in which they turn on the unit, then drop a thick heavy glass drinking glass into it, and it just ground it up and spat it out down the pipes as ground glass.
Any time I have this decision to make I get the same unit. Never fails. Eats anything and everything, even if stupid people put things down there that would have been better off in the trash.

Idk what AP is talking about but middleastern women have been great at keeping their surroundings neat and today, but the guys tho... I've had more than a few tell me that their moms or sisters basically anyone with a vagina would pick up while they eat, shit and exist. I didn't even think it was possible to fuck up a wok with tumeric and canola but there's a first time for everything

The last time I purchased a garbage (Badger) disposal about three years ago I got price shock. They had about doubled in price since the last time I purchased one. At least the labor is free. Don't forget the plumbers putty.

From my experience: unless you buy the same brand and model you may find that the new unit will not fit into your existing plumbing configuration.
I would not want to take that chance with a rental unit since you have to obtain the tenant's permission to enter for non-emergency.
