^ Earlier in his career he was a more decent politician, but his politics changed to suit the requests of the more outrageous right-wing elements of the party. I remember those days well, as I went from die-hard party attending Conversative to Independent during Bush Sr.'s rule.
Why do postal workers get the day off? Or are all government workers taking the day off? What about the banks? Schools? Just shut the entire country down. The postal workers already get every holiday known to man. I am just saying it seems odd they decide to take a day off during one of the busiest mail times of the entire year.
And the left wants government to run health care. Oh, we can't do your heart surgery today since we are taking Cesar Chavez day off.
Jazz, I could say something like "I hope they don't do your heart surgery cause they're on an extended coffee break" but I'm not going to cause it's the holidays and my Rabbi told me to straighten up and fly right. (And he told me with rhythm)
I am all about remembering George Bush and contemplating how we all need to come together at this time.
However, I just doubt that all these government workers will actually watch the ceremonies and truly honor his legacy. It is about one more day off and we all get to pay for it.
