I don't usually get involved in RA since 99% of it is nonsense, but this is hits close to home.
File a police report or at the very least contact animal services and let them know your dog was attacked by another dog. No one wants to see a dog put down, but you also don't want it to attack any other dogs.
Also, you can sue the owner of the dog for vet bills. He sounds like a real pos since he won't do the right thing. Probably best to get as far away from that person as you can.

i have filed a police report with the north hollywood police dept, but they have already pawned off my case to 3 different detectives, so im not super confident in how well this will turn out in my favor. the entire police dept knows who this guy is too, so its not really helping me feel confident in a positive outcome for all of this mess.
i have yet to call animal services tho. but some new information was given to me earlier tonight about the breed of the dog that did this, but im not exactly sure its completely true.. i was told that the breed of dog isnt legal in the US and that because it attacked chewy not even 3 days after attacking another AirBnB guest, that it should be put down.
im still broken over the entire thing and it has completely affected my ability to work to be able to survive. i havent been able to do anything but focus of chewys recovery, and when hes napping, im an emotional mess. ive posted but cant bring myself to even let anyone see me not at my best.
lets just call it "the tri-fuck-ta".... cuz this entire travesty has tri-fucked-me-up emotionally.

Sorry for your situation and you should stay on top of the police/animal services. Maybe contact the local news outlet.
But most important, thank you for making sure your pup got the medical attention it needed.

Have you tried the Humane Society ? It sounds like he will need more treatment. If they don’t have Vet service for low income pet owners, they might be able to refer you to a Vet that will take payments or reduce the cost. Wishing you the best

Poor guy. Hope you feel better because he should be ok since he got his surgery. He looks like he's gonna pull through. At this point he just needs his medicine and food I think. Hoping for a speedy recovery! Sorry this happened to you guys.
