Will Lonzo be taking his self centered father with him.

Great times are going to happen this season!

Great times are going to happen this season!
Same talk as last year...

Grump, that's the best part about the deal!
But the not reported part about NO also getting Staple Center Laker beer revenues for 2 yrs. is a head scratcher. MAGA! (Make Alcohol the Guaranteed Attraction)

why didn't they trade that other overpriced buffoon
Because having only one player is not a "team"...just sayin
he thinks he is
Getting Davis is good but he can walk like Dwight Howard if he's not happy playing with Lebron this season.
I can't think of ANY TEAM that has ever given up 3 future first round picks in one transaction.
If Im not mistaken the Lakers still owe Orlando compensation from the two trades Steve Nash/Dwight Howard from 2012.

"I can't think of ANY TEAM that has ever given up 3 future first round picks in one transaction."
I'm pretty sure that has happened before. In fact I think there is a rule limiting the max number of first rounders you can trade to three.
Where Dookie when you need him?

duke is hiding in his Mommy's basement..

I hear his mom has the complete blu ray criterion collection, a color calibrated 65 inch display, 7.1 surround sound, and reclining seats down there.
Still waiting to found out if there's a mini bar, popcorn maker, and AC unit that can keep the temp at 70 degrees.

Lakers next move... Kemba Walker.
This feels like when we picked up Pau Gasol I smell a championship right o'er yonder!
Yeah!!!!!!!!
YAY we got Unibrow! 🤣 Now What?
Lakers are finally relevant again. They will probably add a point guard. With Golden State depleted the Lakers will be set to make a big move on them.

just a little more to the trade
Tim Bontemps @TimBontemps
The Pelicans will get the following picks from the Lakers, league sources tell ESPN: No. 4 pick in 2019 Top-8 protected in 2021, becomes unprotected in ‘22 Unprotected swap in ‘23 Unprotected first in ‘24 Unprotected swap in ‘25 Tremendous haul for David Griffin & the Pelicans.
As Ramona Shelburne of ESPN explained, the Pelicans didn't want Los Angeles' pick for 2020 but "essentially have control of the Lakers draft for the next seven years" thanks to pick swaps.
if lakers are good with davis over the next 6 years won't amount to much on pick swaps
top 8 protected(2021)...probably won't matter as we should be on the 2nd championship and picking last.
Lakers, if successful, will not rely on draft picks and will sign top talent to further their championship ambitions. Think Lebron, AD and possibly Kemba Walker as examples.
Their strategy of lottery picks has not yielded them a contending team... (think back, starting with D’Angelo Russel, Randal, etc...). In addition, Lonzo Ball has been injury prone in College and NBA so there is risk there. Finally, even BI has health risk with his clots that he had surgery for. While we hope he is healthy, it is a risk to his career.
they said the swap picks were added to get pelicans to delay trade for cap purposes to help the lakers...would hurt the pelicans
so necessary and makes price of it easier to swallow
Lakers have already payed off the draft pics from the Nash/Howard deals.
per WOJ today...the trade date is july 6th
means we did not get the extra cap space to 30million that was being floated and reason for pick swaps on top of already a ton more than any other team was considering.
went to bed thinking rob did a great job getting this max space to 30million....now thinking anybody in america could have pulled that deal off...maybe he held the line at 3 salad tosses per year??
The deal is not finalized, and it is not yet known how much cap space will ultimately be available. There are quite a few variables. There’s a good article by Eric Pincus on Bleacher Report that explains this.
good summary of all the little pieces of info put out there
you would think all the extra pick swap/delay crap so in favor of the pelicans and not really needed to get the basic deal done (nobody else was trading close to this) had an objective beyond just getting davis

Can someone remind me again what the Lakers got for Russell and Randall?
randall was a debacle move(nothing)
russell got them B lopez and kuzma
magic moves
Now hopefully we will be better this year, because last year we thought brown was going to win it all for us but he just came out here to socialize lol

*LeBron

Can't wait to see all the fans showing up with fake unibrows...gunna make LA look styyyyyyylish!
I wouldn't break out the champagne and start celebrating championships just yet. When the Lakers picked up Pau Gasol not only did they have Kobe already in place but they had Derek Fisher, Lamar Odom, Andrew Bynum, etc already on the roster.
How good the team is will depend upon who they get to go with James, Davis and Kuzma.
...and how close together the new players eyebrows are.
Agree Mrdankim. Hopefully they can get another star player.
They screwed up the 3rd max slot. Lakers are laughingstock of the league.
^this is false information. It was a rumor floating around on Twitter and such.
Lakers still have a lot of options at play.
It’s not over.
Reviving this blog to discuss free agency. Thought on Lakers or Clippers moves this off season? Think Lakers got better but will probably take a slight step back defensively. Should be better offensively though.
Looking back a lot of you Laker haters hot takes haven't aged well at all lol
rob doing a great job
let's see if he can get lil bro Gasol signed...they might have to trade McGee to do it...hopefully not give Kuzma up for nothing
nice money on kcp...many thought it would be a raise situation there with his contract...it's nice, cheap and tradable
They just traded McGee to clear the space for Marc. Looks like Kuz going to get till trade deadline to prove his worth. I hope they can bring back Kief Morris and get another Center.
funny, I was reading some laker news thru out the day and missed the actual deal going down
Lakers did some serious upgrade for the upcoming season. Too bad Rondo left. His playoff present will be missed.
Wonder what happens if the ratings take up where they left off.
The league and the players have a lot of fence mending to do but even then I wonder if they haven't hurt the brand beyond recognition. If that's the case I would think the cap goes lower and the teams that are making all these deals will find themselves in a big financial mess.
On a lot of sports blogs the general sentiment from fans is 'fuck the nba'.

boogie might be signing with HOU...not enough minutes for him on the lakers
morris returning
the joy of keeping the clips and those that fucked the lakers(leonard) down....go jeanie
Yeah I was hoping Boogie would have came, but Im glad the kept Keiff Morris I like his toughness and he fits perfect with AD and Bron.
Im just glad none of the guys that left went to the Clippers LOL
I think they just need to sign a back up center Hassan Whiteside is still available, just someone who can defend the rim and rebound like Dwight.
he might be too good to come here for the minimum and playing time
BUT the lure of a ring is big and you know injuries happen...so it's possible

Pau Gasol Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers recently agreed to a deal with big man Marc Gasol, and it looks like his brother, Pau, could soon be back in the Purple and Gold as well.
Albeit, the reunion could be purely ceremonial.
Based on Pau Gasol’s recent social media activity, it looks like he wants to re-sign with his former squad to at least retire as a member of the Lakers.
Pau Gasol likes this tweet saying the Lakers should sign him, or at least sign him so he can retire a Laker. 🍿

he was out last year with foot injury...could be a 5-8min guy per game...expand it with success or injuries.
they will get their pick of people wanting a ring for min. salary
I would actually hate that. We should save the last few spots on the roster for guys who can actually contribute. I love Pau but he's not what we need.
he would love to be signed and retired as a laker...so not even play
