We live in a pretty screwed up country right now. I remember a time when businesses loved to have police presence since that helped assure no robberies or violence. Now people feel 'triggered'
I would love to have police officers and other government agencies hang around my businesses. This is just so screwed up. I think that stupid employee just made up the story about customer's complain. I would fire that stupid employee.
Many on the left have demonized law enforcement. Yes, there are a few bad cops, but there are shitty baristas also.
tempe is a dump
too bad if starbucks gets robbed and no police show up
they should have fired the employee too
My take is simple.
Neighborhoods and businesses who don't like law enforcement can do without. Let the crime climb and then they will scream about lack of law enforcement.
phyremedic....
Don't you understand.....the training was ONLY directed ONE way. Only the right are racists, only Republicans lack sensitivity. And that racism and lack of sensitivity only goes one way.....
"Starbucks may want a refund on that facilitators presentation."
Or, that employees were out on an extended coffee break during the presentation. Let's not rush to judgement.
It is obvious that their training was all a bunch of political mumbo jumbo. How long ago was that training....and this worker screws up that quickly.....it was a big show' and I haven't heard anything about this worker being fired yet.
the employee needs to be fired
little shit 15dollar employees need to frigging check themselves
Well the training obviously didn't work. It was a political show......trying to appease the left.
Now if they are really serious about this, the employee gets fired for violation of whatever was covered in that sensitivity training. And they issue a stern warning across their stores that what was covered in the training will be enforced.
Hopefully they asked that employee to leave - permanently. Is the world being taken over by fools?
Well people on the left indict all law enforcement officers for every incident that has occurred over the past decade.
People jump on and indict all gun owners when there is a senseless shooting.
All white people are indicted for having 'white privilege'
Guess this shit only works one way.....
I prefer The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.
I trust no cops they must of did something to have to leave period!!!!!
Sick of whites who act like police are being stigmatized for no reason yet will in the same breath indict every black person for the ills of individuals. The government and you hypocritical POS's can take a long walk off a short pier. Everytime I see one of you I hold my EDC a little tighter.
⬆What da fuk⬆
Everytime I see one of you I hold my EBT a little tighter.
Fixed it for you...
so much for being respectful
Do you need to train your employees to respect police officers these days? F @#$ NO !! Fire the stupid employee Monday morning when the stupid store open its door to serve their coffee !!
PERIOD !!!!
Fuck Starbucks and the horse they ride in on....
^ riiiiiiight.... another fucking loser!
^^^ Exactly !
Employee response should have been very simple.
"Sorry, but unless those police officers are violating some Starbucks policy, they have a right to be here as much as any other customer."
^ +100
Not sure what the customer who complained was thinking regarding being uncomfortable, unless their picture is on the Post Office wall....
Those officers had every right to be there and drink coffee. I guess that customer is selfish and feels their rights are more important than anyone else.
The employee should have had the balls to tell the customer exactly what bigseeker said. But we have gotten into this 'politically correct' mode where bashing cops is fully acceptable.
Cope should stick to donut shops.
Would have had more impact if you said cops.
Since the public loves firemen so much I think they should call them when a violent act occurs! Oh, thats right the firemen won't go into a scene if there are dangerous people with weapons around!
"Well people on the left indict all law enforcement officers for every incident that has occurred over the past decade. " -not true, but there sure have been enough cases to at least warrant looking into
"People jump on and indict all gun owners when there is a senseless shooting."-not true, people want sensible gun laws, not the ridiculous "they want to take our guns away" narrative that the right (and NRA) always pushes
All white people are indicted for having 'white privilege' - not the white people that don't invoke their white privilege.
Guess this shit only works one way.....- you're right, only works one way in your mind

LOL
Wait
I can't reconcile these two things in my head
I'm guessing many of y'all in an uproar over this are conservatives, based on this (and other) blog posts.
So please explain to me... HOW does this fit in with the whole "small government, more personal freedom" thing?
I'm really truly trying to understand this. Not trolling.
No really, I'm not trolling this time lol. Serious question.

Nearly every police involved shooting has brought out the ACLU, Antifa, Al Sharpton and others who immediately jump to conclusions before the facts are known.
Some of the cities and states that have the strictest gun laws still have gun violence and people call for more laws while those in existence don't seem to be working. People on the left haven't gotten their heads around the fact that criminals are the ones who perpetrate much of the gun violence and they are securing weapons through illegal channels, so any gun law wouldn't stop them. Further, several of the more recent mass shootings have involved people who passed all the background checks and obtained the firearm legally. We ignore the mental health issue that is really causing much of the mass shootings.
Ahahahaha, I hope the stupid fucker gets robbed. Then he can call the cops. Some people are as dumb as rocks.
and you know what they say Bouncy, "One bad pickle can spoil the whole barrel."
Jazz, if people of your race were getting shot up simply for being that race, well I'd hope all those groups would come out to see wtf is going on. No, not all police involved shootings are of that ilk, but enough have been, so yes, they deserve all that scrutiny, if not more. they're supposed to be civil servants to all Americans regardless of race or class, not judge, jury and executioner all rolled up into one.
And yes, there should be more checks for mental status of gun owners, but guess which president overturned that law just recently, which was put into place by Obama- so we're clearly in agreement there.
glad I don't drink coffee
Starbucks employee should have told that customer to get the fuck out, not the police officers.
Everyone hates cops til something happens, then they're all "call the cops"..
Smh...

I agree that more black people are being killed than white per capita. But that statistic does not count the number of police 'encounters'. No one seems to publish those numbers.
If the police encounter armed black men twice as often as armed white men, then you would expect more black shootings. Yes, there needs to be investigations of ALL shootings, but absent the real data of encounters, the fatality rates are meaningless.

Do you think that the entire conservative philosophy is summed up by "small government, more personal freedom" ?
You mean it's not?
Kidding.
I was under impression that's part of the conservative philosophy though. Am I wrong?
I just can't quite wrap my head around the idea of extreme patriotism being a thing at the same time as people who want to get the gubmint off their land and away from their white wimmenz.
It's almost like some conservatives are saying, yes, we want our guns, and our freedom, just not for THAT guy because THAT guy might use them in a way I don't like.
And to clarify, when I say "extreme patriotism", I'm referring to the attitude of people who say things like, "If you don't like it, get out of the country".
I get that two things can be true at the same time. I just can't quite wrap my head around how these particular two things can be true at the same time.

when the blue line don't police themselves they are allowing people to see the ugliness and that they can't do whatever they want and they are above the law. I for one don't trust them IMO they are glorified paid thugs
Boohoo, the police sad they're asked to leave? Better to leave then have your rights violated.
It's absolutely hilarious to me to see so many boot lickers on this forum of all places. JFC.
I'm torn.
Too many of them are egotistical thugs doing whatever they think they can get away with (and have their union back them no matter what) but way more of them come running into danger when others are running away from it.
Can't live with them...can't live without them. If they would honestly police themselves, I'd be way more willing to support them and give them the benefit of the doubt.

not a super fan myself, but used to know a lot of them, they're no different than the rest of us, and just as corrupt if that's the right terminology
