The women brought in more money to the US SOCCER FEDERATION last year than the men did (not including FIFA payments to US Soccer). The women's Nike home jersey is the biggest seller ever for Nike jerseys. And the Women's soccer rating on US TV surpassed the men's rating.
So why should the US Federation pay it's women less than the men. (FIFA does not directly pay salaries and national bonuses of players...they do pay extra prize money to the WC players above and beyond the federation money which is determined by the international receipts for men vs women). The US women are not contesting the FIFA money (yet), just the US Federation money.

I've had enough of these chicks already, it has gone from a fun story to annoying as hell.

This is the only team that I have watched and will probably be ready again in four years.
I made an attempt at Men's WC a few years ago when we actually made it to the tournament, but these asshats rolling around on the ground like they'd been shot after barely being touched made me shut that down real quick.

That's why I prefer watching the US women play. They are fairly clean and skilled. So you see soccer, not mud wrestling (not that I have anything against a good splatter.) ...and their looks compare favorably to other international teams, well mostly (is that Tramp sexist??).
US and England was a good game to watch because the English are a good passing team and they hung in their for the whole game. EXCITING! (no not that way Lou) They were just a little unlucky and their captain sucked at penalty kicks.

Not that I give 2 shits about soccer ... But men's soccer generated $4 Billion dollars a few years ago and women soccer generated $73 Million. Women got 13% of the revenue... Men 9%.
Its all about supply demand and the $$$$... When women's soccer generates that kid of revenue they'll get pad more...
