I'm no Angels fan by any means.
But what the Angels did last night was really nothing short of miraculous.

The Angels played their first home game since Tyler Skaggs died, and every player wore his name and number on their backs.
His mom threw out the ceremonial opening pitch, which was a perfect strike.

Then, the Angels pitched a no-hitter, using 2 different pitchers (each wearing #45, just like their teammates). The second pitcher went 7 innings, matching the longest outing of his career. He's not a very good pitcher (career ERA of 4.39).

It was the first combined no-hitter in the state of California since 7/13/1991, which just happened to be the day that Tyler Skaggs was born (exactly 28 years ago).

Getting no-hit is embarrassing.

One of the Mariners said it would've felt weird to win the game when the Angels were honoring Skaggs. But they definitely wanted to at least get a hit, especially after they'd already basically lost the game in the first inning when the Angels scored 7 runs.
