"TheRealGuido running around acting like republicans don't kneejerk based on hyperbole and appeals to emotion as a way of being. You probably get super excited when the libs get triggered but then fucking freak out if anyone steps on a flag or thinks healthcare is a human right or the death penalty is cruel and unusual"

I don't freak out if someone steps on a flag.

I could give a shit if someone thinks healthcare is a human right.

I could care less if someone thinks the death penalty is cruel and unual.

I never said anyone does not kneejerk based on anything, let alone hyperbole.

Appeals to emotion as a way of being? You know that went over 90% of the heads here.

Want to try again? Please, I am happy to tell you are wrong as many times as you are.

No dude...he is the President of those who voted for him... probably you or not. I don't know for sure if you did, but you sure come off as someone who did.

I can assure you, I did not vote for him and never would or will, hence, he is not my President. I will take the 40th as an exemplary example of a good President.

Don't confuse me for some idiot who will just stand by and take your word as some truth...on this site.

The president is chosen by who the majority of electorates vote for, not who YOU vote for. You can define words however you want but your definition is meaningless. It's the definition that society recognizes that is valid.

Funny how Trump is "trash" a "demagogue," a "bigot." a "racist." etc...

Because he talks nasty on Twitter to a Muslim immigrant woman in Congress who hates OUR country and called the President a motherfucker" on her first day in office!

Yet he keeps winning:

- Strong economy
- Consumer Confidence Up
- Manufacturing jobs Up
- Record highs on Wall Street
- Minority unemployment at all time lows
- Unemployment low across the board
- Wages up
- Action taken to get rid of anti-American trade policies
- Used Presidential Pardon for release of minorities who were victims of unfair sentencing
- Established National Park in Georgia in honor of MLK, Jr. by signing HR 267
- Established US Embassy in Jerusalem after several past Presidents promised but did not deliver
- Degrading and dismantling ISIS
- Pulled out of one sided anti-American Paris Climate Accord
- Tax cut bill to stimulate the economy and put more money back in taxpayers' pockets
- Middle class wage increase
- A more fair US-Mexico-Canada trade deal
- Record high American oil production and energy independence
- 3 million jobs created
- over 300,000 new manufacturing jobs
- 340,000 construction jobs created
- Doubled the child tax credit
- Withdrew US Troops from Syria
- Withdrawal from ridiculous Iran nuke deal (unfortunately can't recall the Obama money plane)
- Working to establish relations with Nuclear North Korea to avert a catastrophe
- Working to stop the influx of illegal aliens on our border and calling out Congress for failure to act

And several hundred more things. We are better off now than we were 3 years ago, but for all the whining leftists. That's a fact that cannot be disputed. Less war and military action, more focus on the homeland on jobs, wages, and infrastructure.

Obama gave a lot of speeches...and in them he charactarized the lack of most of the economic gains above as "the new normal." Get used to 6-7 percent unemployment, stagnant and declining wages, and Jimmy Carter's general national malaise. That's gone now, people. America is back, albeit at the hands of a dirty tweeting President. As far as I am concerned, he can Tweet away, just keep making us money!

yellowB2 wants to play?

This turned out to be really fucking long lol.. whoops. Whatever, I'm bored Maybe I should get one of those new jobs

tl;dr: I'm right, you're (mostly) wrong, but you prolly won't read it because I'm verbose and facts I referenced don't matter.

- Strong economy
Depends on your definition of strong. We're in the middle of a trade war, and the government is having to bail out a good portion of our exporters because of it. See: $16b bailout for farmers.

- Consumer Confidence Up
I'd like to see your source on this because.... mine isn't lol. I'm open on this one though.

- Manufacturing jobs Up
This is actually true, though it has slowed lately.

- Record highs on Wall Street
Yes, along with record percentage dips as well. The instability due to his trade policies is having an effect, nevermind that according to the NY Times, "A whopping 84 percent of all stocks owned by Americans belong to the wealthiest 10 percent of households." But fake news, right? lol

- Minority unemployment at all time lows
- Unemployment low across the board

Yes, but this doesn't take into account underemployment, and the gig economy. Someone earning $200/week because all they can find is a job driving Uber doesn't really count, IMO. These things were nascent in the Obama years and the Trump admin is coasting from the Democrat's fiscal policy.

- Wages up
For the rich... but let's not twist this one around. The raise in the minimum wage was a leftist idea and always has been - but (see below for more), the wage increase barely covers inflation. It's a 1% increase after you account for inflation, but the wage increase for the top 1% has increased by 157% since 1979. As an anecdotal example, the McDonald's CEO earns 5,000 times what their average employees earn. Can you honestly tell me that guy works 5,000 times harder than the average employee?

- Action taken to get rid of anti-American trade policies
Yeah... by starting a trade war, and then socializing the losses of the exporters who have fallen victim to it. I can't really get behind that one, but that's going to be a matter of opinion.

- Used Presidential Pardon for release of minorities who were victims of unfair sentencing
Get ready for it... wait for it.... I actually liked his CJR bill that he signed. It's the one thing he did that I can actually clap him on the back for. Yes, he could have done more, but I'm not going to let the perfect be the enemy of the good. It's a start, but we have a long way to go. I question his motivation here though since he's always trying to one-up Obama lol... but it's still a good thing, and I'm glad for it.

- Established National Park in Georgia in honor of MLK, Jr. by signing HR 267
And took money from the national parks to pay for his military parade stunt for July 4th. So how is that a good thing lol. Nevermind the fact that his Interior Sec'y wanted to sell large swaths of national park land to profit from the sale of mineral and oil rights.

- Established US Embassy in Jerusalem after several past Presidents promised but did not deliver
This is also going to be something that is going to be a matter of opinion, but let's just say I'm not behind this. Let's give everything to Israel and ignore the Palestinians and then wonder why it's not working. Good strategy.

- Degrading and dismantling ISIS
Check again. ISIS is still there. They're just decentralized which, arguably, could be considered worse.

- Pulled out of one sided anti-American Paris Climate Accord
Yep he sure did.
Because environmental degradation isn't detrimental to US interests

- Tax cut bill to stimulate the economy and put more money back in taxpayers' pockets
Ummm.... really? Yeah, for the 1%. The middle class and working class got nothing, and small business owners actually paid more. Ask me how I know this lol. But you can also google it.

- Middle class wage increase
The middle class barely exists anymore. But even aside from that, median middle class wages shows $61,000. That's barely enough to live on, if you live in a city like LA or NY, and that's practically poverty line if you live in SF or Seattle because of the housing crises. The economy is legendary for the rich right now, but definitely not for the middle class, working class, and poor.
But let's get technical on this one.
Middle class wages have been increasing since 1960... BUT, it doesn't match the rate of inflation. According to Pew Research in 2018, middle class wages have the same purchasing power they did in 1978.
According to Forbes, if you account for inflation, the wage increase is equal to one percent.
I guess it's better than zero percent, but... come on. This isn't the legendary economy the right keeps claiming it is.

- A more fair US-Mexico-Canada trade deal
It was essentially the same trade deal lol. And the tariffs and ridiculousness cost American businesses a ton of money in the meantime.

- Record high American oil production and energy independence
While completely ignoring climate change and green energy... even though developing green energy sources would create tons of jobs, boost the importance of education and actually make us a world leader again. But whatever lol. Oil, fuck yeah. Fuck the arctic, amirite?
The Green economy is an inevitability if we're going to survive on this planet, AND in the 21st century world economy, and we ignore that at our peril.
But yeah, fuck the arctic.

- 3 million jobs created
Again, gig economy. Underemployment doesn't really cut the cheese for me. I don't see having to work three independent contractor jobs, while losing benefits and retirement bennies while the Repubs try to whittle away entitlements at the same time, to be an overall net positive.

- over 300,000 new manufacturing jobs
I'll give you that one.

- 340,000 construction jobs created
Probably a good deal of it to make up for what happened in Puerto Rico, which, by the way, is part of the US lol. But hey, if so, that's great. Now let's work on infrastructure, eh?

- Doubled the .... tax credit
And took away itemized deductions, which gutted a lot of small business owners.

- Withdrew US Troops from Syria
Check again, they're still there, now they're just undermanned. Oh and didn't he warn Russia before his military strikes so the Iranians had a chance to skedaddle anyway lol.

- Withdrawal from ridiculous Iran nuke deal (unfortunately can't recall the Obama money plane)
And now guess what, Iran's working on nukes again. So how is this a good thing, exactly?
Not to mention the money was Iran's anyway and we just put a lock on it because we didn't like their policies (let's not mistake my argument here, their policies were shit.... but Iran didn't take any money from the US here. It was their money to begin with).

- Working to establish relations with Nuclear North Korea to avert a catastrophe
If he gets it done, cool.... I'd be good with that. But really, can you actually tell me you're cool with him sucking up to violent, autocratic dictators like Kim Jong Un, Putin, Erdogan, and Duterte? I'm not talking about peace talks here. I'm referring to him complimenting these guys in public, inviting them to the White House, etc. I personally find this reprehensible, and I find his open admiration of them to be completely disturbing.
And let's actually get technical on this one too. Exactly what has he accomplished aside from photo ops? North Korea is still building and testing missiles, and they haven't dismantled anything substantial so far as anyone can tell. UN inspectors aren't being allowed in, and they certainly aren't being transparent about their programs, so exactly what has gotten done with this except the fact that he's giving Kim Jong Un credibility in his own country, and Putin credibility on the world stage for stepping in "to help". How is this good for the US?

- Working to stop the influx of illegal aliens on our border and calling out Congress for failure to act
Illegal immigration has been steadily falling since 2007, and yes, even through the Obama years. There was a small increase in immigration under Obama, which then went back to falling steadily after 2010. Since Trump has taken office, numbers for immigration have spiked. How is this because of Trump? What has he stopped?
According to the site migrationpolicy, The overall immigrant population continues to grow, but at a slower rate than before the 2007-09 recession. Recent immigrants are more likely to be from Asia than from Mexico, and are also more likely to have a college degree. The size of the unauthorized population appears to be on the decline. Deportations from within the United States are rising. And the United States in 2018 resettled the smallest number of refugees since formal creation of the refugee resettlement program in 1980.
I'd like to hear how Trump has caused this decline lol. Oh I'll agree that asylum denials have gone through the roof due to his policies, but I don't think that's a good thing. Now we have a crisis at the border because a panicked South American population seeking asylum are jumping the border, worried they won't be able to make a case, because they're desperate to get out of the situation they're in.
I agree immigration reform needs to be a thing, but at root, what y'all are afraid of is "OMG. They were there, but NOW THEY'RE OVER HERE!!!!!"

I'm actually impressed if you did lol

My mind is open though. If I'm wrong I'll admit it. Only thing about policy though is that a lot of these things fall on opinion.
For instance, immigration policy
I think the crisis at the border is horrific
But, a lot of Trumpicans think those people are getting what they deserve, and the more they suffer, the better, because they put themselves there by coming over the border and asking for asylum (or by jumping the border, as the case may be).

Potato, tomato.

But if the facts I referenced were wrong, I'm all about being corrected. I don't like working off of incorrect research. fwiw, I did actually google any of the things I claimed lol. Took me like an hour

DeLaine...remember the search engines are all left leaning these days...you cannot just look at the first or second or even 10th item listed. Often you have to look at lots of sources to find the truth....sad state of affairs but the truth.

YouTube has blocked many of the videos from Prager University and I sure don't hear anyone from the left being concerned about freedom of speech....it is only freedom of speech if it applies to what you believe.

I stand for the rights of anyone who burns a flag, disagrees with the President or any elected official or disagrees with me.

But make sure you are armed with facts and not bullshit and politically motivated data.

Prager U is kind of a bad example for anything, they've never met a logical fallacy they didn't love.

I'll agree that Youtube's algorithms need a loooottttt of work... but it isn't just conservative channels they're leaving out.

David Pakman did an excellent video about this recently, where he went over the data for the suggested video traffic over the past year. The suggested videos for major media companies like FOX, NBC, CBS, etc now have about 80% of the mentions, starting a couple of months ago when YT changed their algorithm (again). This leaves ~20% of the mentions for suggested videos to smaller channels like ... well, like Prager U, Crowder, Pakman, Majority Report, etc. It's impacting all of the indie channels, not just conservative ones.

As for google's search algorithms, no, they're not swayed toward liberal bias. I mentioned in another thread that there are numerous companies who exist solely to impact search engine results for anyone who pays them. PageRank doesn't have any code that says
$search-term:chemtrail
then
execute,false
(or whatever. obv my php sucks and wouldn't even apply here anyway)
If you think something like that does exist then I'd like to see the actual evidence for it. Nothing on the internet is hard to find, especially when source code is so easily obtainable and much of it is open source.

Search engine algorithms are strictly numerical indicators of a webpage's importance or reputation. That reputation can be artificially modified by paying a company to employ users to type in specified search terms and then click predetermined results over and over again, thousands of times. Kamala Harris uses these companies quite effectively, shortly after her candidacy it was next to impossible to find articles about certain of her scandals. Still is.

But I'll agree with you on one thing: check your sources.... and PragerU isn't a reliable one, IMO. They have a distinctly right wing, conservative religious bias that's evident in their content. Which is fine... just don't call them unbiased, when they'll only give you the facts that support their side of the argument.

...nobody read that one either

I read them both. Every word. Won't share what I was doing at the time.

DeLaine...you are missing my point....

YouTube is practicing censorship. Whether you agree with Prager or not...their content is being censored as it it was pornographic.

And if you think Google, Facebook and Twitter are not left biased you are a fool.

You might want to do some additional research.

And understand that search engines are programmed to search for content in certain media.....so if the search engine is programmed to focus on sources that are left leaning, then the results will be skewed left......

Dang Fubar. I'm actually kind of impressed you went through all that Cheers for that.

I actually agree with you on a lot of this, except on the ones you probably already figure I won't agree with - how to handle Iran and immigrants being the probably obvious ones. I'm not big on punitive policies as a matter of course. They generally don't get much done IMO and only teach the common people resentment, whether it's via economic sanctions or prison camps.

I don't believe a wall is going to slow anything down. The existing walls sure haven't, and besides, most of what we don't want comes through points of entry anyway, this is backed up by existing data from border patrol, customs, etc. I think a "wall" as Trumpicans tout it only serves to otherise and create division, and if they want people to actually get behind someone so they can get things done, ie North Korea, then they're going to have to quit othering half the country and feasting on party line politics.

I'm with you on the jobs numbers. It's a start, but it's not great.

I'm unfamiliar with S corps, so I'm gonna have to educate myself on that one.

I agree AI is going to make a lot of things worse, especially where it concerns manufacturing and skilled labor. IMO the only way to combat this is by putting an emphasis back on STEM education. The Cold War sucked, but it *did* make us compete like crazy, fund science programs and pushed us to the pinnacle in the international market when it came to medical advancements, scientific advancements, etc. We're falling farther and farther behind Western Europe and we're the only first world country without socialized healthcare programs.
And anyone going BLAHHHH EVIL COMMUNIST let's just stop that right now. The bank bailouts, the $16m farming bailout from a couple months ago, social security, medicare, all of those are socialized programs so... stop it. Just stop lol. When it comes to having to wait for healthcare, well, you're waiting for your insurance company to approve your care already so that's not any different from getting approval from Medicare-for-all or whatever. They're just removing the for-profit middleman. If we're talking about a moral stance then yeah, I think it's fucking evil to profit off of denying someone medical care, just out of principle.

Agree the war hawks are a bad influence. So is Hannity. So is Kushanka and the whole nepotism thing. That one is baffling to me.

I wasn't keen on Obama's immigration policies either. He deported more people than several previous Presidents.

And yeah. The three branches need to stfu and do their jobs, but I doubt that will happen without congressional and judicial term limits.

The internet may have been started as part of a gov't research grant (if I remember right? I'd have to check) but the companies running the infrastructure are all private. The laws haven't caught up to the technology, so this is a big problem.

And lol@outlooker. You think this'll stop me from annoying you in some other thread? Fat chance
I'm rather practiced at being a loudmouth. I'm kinda known for not stfu'ing. Ever.
