They are still allowed to do business after this is wrong.
"Free credit checks for 10 years" fuck off

You only get $125 if you already have credit monitoring services for the next six months
So Equifax is pretty much just saying "hey, we're gonna screw you over, wait to tell you about it until we absolutely have to, and oh btw we did nothing to fix it when we found out and only acted once the government jumped down our asses about it. So to make you shut up and forget about this (again) we're gonna maybe give you a service for credit monitoring for "up to" four years, only if you don't already have it lol, even though you only really need it because we fucked up lol, because f u, and oh btw we might tell you about it if we figure out when the life-ruining consequences happen to you from our major fuckup. Or if you already bought credit monitoring because of our massive incompetence, here's $125 that you might see 6 months from now if it doesn't get "lost in the mail" which doesn't even cover the cost of the credit monitoring you're already paying for lol, because lol fu, you stupid consumer that never consented to our service anyway. lol bye bitch"

CEO got his golden parachute.
As usual, slap on the wrist and a wag of a finger. Business as usual.
If justice existed this company should have been shut down.
Why do we need 3 of these parasite companies anyway?

I wasn't affected either, which is a good thing, but I have had credit monitoring for years since some fucktard stole my identity.

I didn't qualify for the $125. so I took the credit monitoring.
Remember one thing, when they send you the check it's going to look like junk mail so you will throw it in the trash. You will have to monitor all your junk mail until your check arrive.
