Trump is right.
There is no excuse for any part of America to be a rat infested shithole. Sure upper class areas look and smell like pumpkin pie compared to low income areas. But rats? Trash? Shit on the sidewalks? That's unacceptable.
The politicians in charge of those areas are universally Democrats. California used to be a Republican state. Not anymore. And what to we have? Filth, polluted beaches, people camping in the streets and parks, shitting out in the open, etc. I haven't been to Santa Monica for several years since I used to work there...but the ENTIRE CITY smells like piss. Everywhere I went smelled like the floor beneath a dirty urinal.
Los Angeles? Democrats. Homeless, rats, typhus, etc. Same with San Francisco. Even worse! And San Diego just had a recent hepatitis outbreak because of the homeless.
If someone doesn't start calling out the people who cause this, nothing will change. It will get worse. And it is clear and cannot be disputed, that it is Democrats and their policies that have done this. Democrats are like vandals, they destroy whatever they touch. New York, Baltimore, Chicago, New Orleans, St. Louis, Seattle, and all of California. Democrat run shit holes.

The decline and poverty of so many US cities really takes on a national and not simply a regional scope. Trump should now put as much into infrastructure building as he does into the immigration issue. Taking care of our own demands a major shift in priorities That would be millions of times better than just criticizing US cities. We need a plan.

I guess many of you need a civics lesson to understand those duties of the Federal Government and those that are left to the States or even local government.
We are a republic of states, with identified duties outlined in the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Taking care of individuals in a city is NOT a Federal duty or obligation. If it a threat to national defense, i.e. people in a city or state revolting then the Federal government could intervene.
It is up to the individual city if they want to be a third world hell hole.

There has to be a massive investment in our cities and infrastructure. It is old and is crumbling. Trump campaigned on this issue but instead shifted his focus towards asylum seekers. This commitment must be led by the federal government. No individual state can fully pull it off. So it is not an issue of blame but how are we to develop a plan to improve things. And the federal government does have authority under the Constitutions commerce clause. Plus the constitution itself was written to *promote the general welfare*
