With all due respect and sorrow for those lost to that knife weilding psycho, a mass shooting can have a higher body count in an instant. I have friends that are EMTs that helped people in Gilroy, and the initial signs were that this might be as bad as Vegas, where I other people I know tell of the carnage and the bullets flying by.

What about a bomb, a vehicle, or biological agent? Sick people who want to end lives can choose a number of ways for mass body counts. And if I were allowed to carry for self protection, I would rather face a knife, or gun, than the others.
