El Paso to LA, oh that made me think about my motorcycle ride to Alabama in 1976 on my Z1. On the return trip I rode non stop from El Paso to LA, arrived home about 04:00 am then got up about 10:00 am and went for a ride.
Coincidence: In the El Paso rest stop I met a Canadian also riding a Z1, we rode together for a few hundred miles until he turned off to Phoenix. The next year a buddy and I rode to Canada and was taking a rest at Stanley park when I see two Z1s roll by. I tell my buddy "hey I know that guy" as he's telling me I'm crazy the bike came back and parked next to ours. It was the same Canadian I met in El Paso.

SoCal has a lot to offer, it’s just spread out. Got hiking in the San Gabriel mountains, a few trails that end in waterfalls. Hollywood has special screenings of older films, always interesting and fun. Venice has all the crazies. If you like the beach, head to Malibu, the rest are pretty gross. Downtown Long Beach is good to hang out.
