Lou - his trade wars and other actions have considerably destabilized our economy. He is creating the conditions for a recession so if he somehow manages to undo the damage he’s done I’m supposed to praise him for fixing the mess he created?

He seems to be backing off on the trade wars in recognition of this instability. He is angry that the Fed will not lower interest rates any further. Part of the reason is his re-election might be very iffy if the economy continues to slide. His base is not only those at his rallies ( anti immigrant , pro gun evangelicals etc) but the financial and big business elements that also support him. Without them his re-election may be doomed. Not sure there will be an imminent collapse just yet however.

I was on a train yesterday and there was a crazy woman there--hot looking, but obviously nuts. Yelling loudly at some invisible enemy--"bitch" and "motherfucker" and "fuck everyone in San Diego". Pounding her thighs, shaking fist in the air, wailing and making strange angry noises.
People discreetly looked away, moved to other seats, tried to ignore.
This is how it is now with Trump and his supporters. Most folks, even some who might like some part, are slowly backing off and letting them act out their crazy, ignoring them. Finally crossed that line where you just can't take them seriously.
They think they are winning because no one argues. Reality is they are no longer part of the conversation.
The respected Financial Times of London (voice of Business and Economics) recently ran an article looking at the evidence and concluding Trump is too stupid to be President--that was the headline. No more trying to pretend--this is over.
Worse, Trump has fired anyone who was helping give him an air of being legit or competent.
The Cheese stands alone....
And like the crazy woman we are all just waiting for his stop to come up so Trump can get off the train.
Wonder who will be the Republican Presidential nominee in 2020?

If the American economy starts to go bad, Trump would end up losing in 2020, not for all the things he does wrong, but for something beyond his control.
The other economies of the world (e.g. slow growth in Europe and China) would be dragging us down.

The reason trump is around is because of McConnell. He's protecting trump while he gets what he wants. McConnell is not doing the job he was voted in for, he's doing the job he was hired to do. Save rich people money, lots and lots of money.
The last two recessions were because of banking scandals. Easy fake money. This time it will be because of a fake president, and real con.
