Land lines are great. They are reliable, cheap and wait what was I saying?
Oh yeah...it's also nice when profiles list phone numbers and emails to reach you at ladies because just like landlines, FXP make no sense to some people on here.

Yup. Live in a canyon so no cell service and I need a Fax machine. I don't get scam/spam calls cause I got a filter radio shack was selling that recognizes and automatically hangs up on them.

Actual landlines aren't cheap! I changed my landline number to a voip connection that filters most of the spam calls. Not sure why, but I just can't seem to part with that old landline number, but I pay less than$5/mo in taxes and fees now.

If you get your landline from the cable company, it will go down when the cable service goes down. Landlines from the telephone company are separate and won't go down unless there is a telephone company service issue (broken overhead lines, etc.)
Then again,borrowing from the immigrant stripper, I don't really care, do you?

I do. Reliable in an emergency, unlike wireless.

Yes I do. It has a call block feature that whenever a call comes in and the caller does not leave a message or on the caller id it reads something like ""City of Whittier"" or "" Fire man Association"" I just hit the block button and that number never comes through again. Got it at Walmart.
