Cavalier King Charles Spaniels
Adopt don't shop. Please!!!
Think about adopting a senior from the shelter. Non-full breeds are amazing companions.
Cavaliers are very needy. They are not emotionally independent.
Some say that^ about you
NO THEY DON'T!
Put yer finger in my butt Mila...
I work with shelters on ocular diseases often

Who breeds frenchies? I’m actually looking to get into the breeding business. Sorry to all who adopt!
If you want to get into breeding make sure you buy your male and female from a breeder who has AKC papers and can prove they are pure breads. This is an important selling point to a lot of potential buyers and ensures they are not buying a mutt.
I'm with PS. If you want a dog, go get one from the pound or shelter. Breeders are a part of the problem, not the solution.
So many wonderful animals are killed that would make wonderful pets except for the fact they're not bred and sold to make money. For shame on breeders and those that aspire to be ones.
There are more people in the world than there are dogs. And everybody has their preference on what they want. thank you for your opinion though. Also of course I would get akc paperwork. I am also curious on how I’d switch one from Lfc to aKC
I’d also just buy a female and pick out studs with the proper genetic code
I would like to shoot my genetic code on that fine ass.

Dog breeders are a strange bunch and the business of selling dogs is cutthroat!
If you think you can make a couple of pups hump and you'll make a fortune on CL or FBM it probably won't happen that way.
I had an acquaintance who bred giant turtles successfully for years and made a good profit and had a good thing going, til the city told him he couldn't do it from his home anymore because that breed was considered an exotic animal and he had to get out of the biz. He decided to try his hand at american bulldogs and wound up with lawsuits and people throwing strays in his yard so the bred dogs would fight or mutt mate. Shit got dark.

More of a Craigslist post??? ...than on an adult site?
not if i was looking to trade.... hence why i asked. but i already got one. theres always reasons behind why people do the things they do .

I tried to adopt but was recommended to get a puppy bc I have two cats. I got a golden retriever...not from a breeder but from a family that couldn’t keep him. I love him so much!!

“Think about adopting a senior from the shelter. Non-full breeds are amazing companions.”
I kind of adopted a Senior who lives across from a shelter..... does that count?
Vicious Chow hounds. Small but make great watch dogs. They bite anything.
He's a link to the largest rescue operation there is!
I’ve been called a horn dog and I like to breed. Does that count?
No I wouldn't count that
Oh and I also breed Horndogs fyi...
I have a couple of Frenchies. Breeding them is not for the inexperienced. Their heads are so large, natural birth is rarely possible (C-section is standard).
I know a couple of breeders. They are passionate about the breed, trying to produce champion quality show dogs. They sell puppies to subsidize their hobby, not to make money.

^ don't we all

There are 1.5 million dogs put down in the US every year. As a former dog groomer ,and someone who worked in animal industries for longer than i will admit to, I suggest volunteering in a shelter for a week. Even a no kill shelter will take away any desire to create more animals that add to this issue.
Reputable dog breeders as a general rule have clauses in their sales contracts that require you to return the dog to them should you not be able to keep it. For that kind of ethical commitment to the dogs you create, you need space . As well, one sick puppy can drain you. For many breeders its a labor of love to one particular breed they are committed to. Until a dog (and if) makes a name for itself in the show ring , financial returns are minimal, if you don't skimp on vaccinations, worming, chipping, dewclaws, etc...Puppies in groups are great till they get out of the whelping box and mom doesn't clean up after them anymore So from about 5 weeks until they hit 8 weeks, you have that to look forward to. There are more than several points i could make, but you get the idea If you have any questions though, please feel free to pm me. Libby
And there are rescue groups for nearly every breed, purebreds get euthanized too, not just mutts.
