It's sort of like anonymous blogging you can say what ever you want without consequences. People are asinine drivers because they feel anonymous in their car.
Well... it keeps things interesting at least. Its a break from The tedium of staring at brake lights, the occasional rant in your car about their questionable heritage and potential inbreeding. jusβ sayin
That's the most ridiculous and asinine excuse. Just because someone can, doesn't mean they should.
Common respect and courtesy went out the window with society. People are so angry and rude these days and they don't care. I've lost so many people because of asshole drivers.
There is less courtesy on or off the road. Distracted drivers. Drivers who can't make a decision and the entitled a who are more so in a vehicle. Rearview mirrors pointed at the drivers seat so make up can be applied or the guy who has his morning coffee and reads the paper while driving on the freeway. It becomes the norm .
If you even look like you would like to walk across the street, everybody stops. Anywhere else in the country they step on to cut you off.
Now freeways are another matter entirely. I think people have a very low tolerance for frustration and slow traffic which turns them into the aforementioned assholes.
^^^Believe me, I only like being on the road at night because ofassholes like you.
And sometimes, yes i am the asshole on the road, because other assholes got me in my speed racer mode. (Don't worry, my Dad taught me to drive.)
Slow drivers, such as 85yo GramGrams heading to her weekly dr's appointment, or that 15yo getting yelled at by their mom or dad as they learn to drive, cause the most traffic and accidents.
Either way, when are we gone stop being assholes and be considerate of everyone else again? It's sad we people being a dick, over being a nice person
Yes I wonder what people think of themselves when they drive like assholes.
Just the other day, traffic was at a crawl, what's new. There is a off ramp coming, the guy behind me turned as if going on the off ramp, then suddenly he turns left and gets in front of me. I'm laughing at his stupidity, then a minute later when I imagine he convinced himself that he is better than anyone in his way. He goes down the shoulder passing about 12 cars.
That guy should not have a driving license.
After I retired one of jobs I had was part time pharmaceutical deliveries. The one thing I took away from that job was patience and courtesy when driving.
Some are completely oblivious of their poor driving.
They never use their blinkers, merge into other lanes whenever they want, regardless of whether there's room to merge, turn from inner lanes, slow down at green lights, take left turns after the left turn light has turned red for several cars ahead of them, etc. Then when you pull up next to them or pass them and look in the car to see who the hell that person is, the person is looking straight ahead, apparently thinking he/she is driving just fine...!
I have patience for assholes, but I don't accept them. Other assholes, well im not part of Rimshots for the fun of it... oh wait, yes that's exactly why I joined that club.
My guess is odds of getting caught are slim and consequences are pretty tame. Add high quality cameras on most busy roads along with stiff penalties and things would be definitely safer. Better driver training might help, too.
