NO eating out, except for grab and go fresh juices, açaí bowels, fresh fruit, kale chips, seeds and nuts. 🤣

Imagine if u had to make your food for 3 months and only do the above, could u do it?
Can you meal prep your own food for that long? No restaurant anything?

Or...

Do u need to eat out because u hate to preplan and make your own food? Or do U do it for entertainment and stimulation? Or both?

Both. Some foods, I can't prepare as good as restaurants. I'm sure I can do it if I spent the time and money and experiment, but unfortunately, I don't have the time. I used to eat at home about 90% of the time; now, only about 75%

Can you show me a good recipe with video for chicken souvlaki, hummus, Greek salad, tzatziki, etc???

Also:
pho
orange chicken
Mandarin chicken
spicy fried tofu

I can grill steaks better than most restaurants and even bought a sous vide, but trying to cut down on red meat.

All in all, I admit I'm not much into cooking as I used to. I'm lazier and there's so much good food nowadays. I mean, I used to eat out and then make it at home, but I just don't have the fire anymore.

I make most of my meals to stay on A low carb diet. Restaurants like to load your plate with unhealthy high carb , inexpensive foods like potatoes, rice, bread, pasta, etc

I just noticed that you are vegan. You wouldn’t approve of the high fat foods that are better for you than high carb foodsThe 1977 low fat diet guide lines were issued without any evidence to support their assumption that high fat diets contribute to cardio vascular disease . George McGovern pushed it through anyway and that started the obesity and type 2 diabetes epidemic we currently have in America. The government had never told anyone what to eat prior to that failed disastrous reccomendation. Fats are actually very good for you unless they are trans fats and or bad oils. Before that if you were overweight, the answer was to stay away from sweets and starches

I try and stay away from the junk/fast food places.
With increasing sales tax in CA and the increasing min wage, it is getting
more and more expensive to eat out.
It's cheaper and better if you just buy the good stuff and make it yourself.

Art. For one thing you have to have the diabetes gene to get type 2 diabetes. If not you could weigh 400 lbs and not get it. Secondly, weight is 90 % diet. Exercise for your heart. The guidelines for a healthy diet in 1977 were 100 % wrong and that food triangle needs to be flipped over. Research it

$10 a day towards food for 1 meal , 7 days a week is $70

For a whole month is $280 a month

Imagine eating 3 meals for $10 per meal that’s $30

$210 a week

$840 a month .

A friend of mine is vegan and when we eat out, he just sits there, sipping tea, while everyone else stuffs themselves. He did eat some pita bread and hummus one time. Tough act to follow when the smelled of grilled meat is in the air...

Vegan is ok so long as you don’t eat a lot of carbs. Grains, potatoes, carrots and foods the fat has been replaced with sugar are very bad for you. They load your
Liver with sugar. Grilled meat and all other non trans fats are very good for you. The government needs to stay away from medicine. Politicians have no clue regarding it and are easily swayed by lobbyists

Jammer yes to all the first few questions! I love me some healthy fat. No sugar and refined processed carbs for me.

I basically start out w a huge chia coconut yogurt in the am with berries and Green tea

Through the day I have a few of the items below:
A big bowl of açaí and fruit
Punch bowl big salad
Indian stewed food with cauliflower rice
If I crave for Filipino food I make adobo eggplant with quinoa

But I’m at the point where chia pudding, mangos and salads make me so full.

All that eating super healthy to live longer is B.S. How many of our grandparents lived to be 90+ years old and ate meats, bread, drank alcohol and sodas and smoked. The reason why is that they lived active lives and worked jobs that were more physical. They would walk to the stores to purchase bread, milk, cheese and meats several times a day. Vacuum cleaners weighed a ton. Ironing shirts was like lifting weights. Clothes were hung out to dry. Eat what you want in oderation but just get out and be physical and yes that includes more sex.

Gilbert, it is because they were not under the impression that eating fat caused heart disease.Read your labels and look at what they replace the fat with in low fat foods. It’s sugar and since then people have become fat in America. I have to deal with it and have reversed my diabetes. It makes a huge difference to cut out carbs and you lose weight fast without intense excursive. I wouldn’t worry about it either, but It is in my best interest

A number of professional athletes have recently been promoting a vegan diet with Beyond Burger and Impossible Burger as what they highlight. A number of successful people like Bill Gates are vegan. CarlsJr. added vegan burgers. I have wondered how healthy these burgers and other vegan foods really are? Most of my vegan friends are vegan because they object to animals being slaughtered for our enjoyment of their meet etc. They considered animals sentient beings with emotions and feelings just like us.

It can be done. It's harder to do in the States, where fast food is everywhere. Go abroad to rural places like mountain Italy or one of the Thai islands, and feast with amazing dishes yet eat clean.
