After my second Quattro had transaxle issues, then a blown head gasket and just out of warranty,, I had enough of those over-priced, parts-too-expensive and rip-off $135hr. dealers. Nice cars when they're new. Sorry you're having issues and I don't know of an independent guy.

^^^ agreed.
Bought an S4 new, and by 32k mi i it had gone through a wheel bearing, an alternator, and a clutch.
When the dealer accused me of being hard on the car, I laughed and pointed to the sports car I drove to the dealership in, on it’s first clutch at 123k miles including 2500k on the track.
Well designed and fun, but total POS cars. Lease em.

Buy Mercedes. Ive had such excellent luck out of mine.
Always pay the higher price for service at the dealer. Don't trust nitwit auto repair half ass shops.
I don't let anyone touch my vehicles other than the dealer. Dealer specs, dealer part's.

There is a German Auto specialist in Upland (Foothill and Campus).
P.S. Audi is basically a VW, so a VW mechanic may be able to help.

I had only two issues with my audi and it was a blown water gasket thing near the back of the firewall and also had a clogged oil filter.
Both of these problems when audi was out of warranty but they were both recalls so Audi dealership covered both repairs for free. Audi even gave me a loaner car till repaired
First thing i would do is check to see if the problem your having with your Audi is a flaw and if there was a recall or lawsuit involved.

Benz > Audi every time.
Like tanks, but fast and comfy and, at least regarding the E-class sedans that I've been buying, ultra-reliable. 202,000 on the last one that I sold and still ran like a top; sold it only because I was tired of the little ancillary electrical system flaws, like the sunroof switch and dashboard bulbs out.
123,000 on my current E-class, which has never needed anything except the routine service calls.
I use an independent Benz guy who's brilliant, reasonable, has a super work ethic, and sometimes waves me off and won't let me pay a thing for small stuff, like when the right rear passenger window switch went inoperative. He's an Armo, so I bring treats from a local Armenian bakery about every other time I show up.
Next car, too, will be an E-class Benz.
