When you are dealing with a cult (make no mistake, a cult is exactly what Trump has created), the followers can see nothing wrong with the leader. The leader of a cult establishes themself as the ultimate, infallible authority and can do no wrong in the eyes of the followers. Even an order, such as drinking poison, will be seen as correct and will be followed.
In time, some of these followers may see things as they truly are, but most will not. Short of some kind of full-scale deprogramming, it is literally pointless to make any attempts to reason with a cult member because they simply lack any ability for reasoning while they are in the grips of the cult mentality.

If you notice my opinion did not single out anyone. I make a conscious effort not to. Yes, im emotional because like all of us i care about the country i live in. My political awareness started during the Clinton administration. I saw how Republicans play politics. From the religious right, newt Gingrich's rise and fall, the tea party, up to now. What ive noticed about Republicans is, truth is what you make it to be. You know the greatest hits over the years. Hillary killed vince foster, weapons of mass destruction, to obama is Kenyan. David brock confirmed the right wing conspiracy. The Arkansas project made to smear the Clintons. See, at the beginning of these conspiracies was a Republican knowingly fabricating lies. But today Republicans are getting help from russian troll farms. The party of morals, god and country has been duped AGAIN. There's problem when a US senator is repeating russian propaganda. It seems Republicans and Putin's interest have come together. Because of Republicans win at any cost mentality one resource to bash dems over the head with is shit generated by Russians. Of course being a liberal im all about fairness. Its my naivete to assume people would never knowingly lie or use false information to win an argument. But the way truth is becoming relative. And this deep state fantasy erodes our trust in government institutions. The way the FBI is being portrayed as political and corrupt. The state department being full of nerds.The labeling of news as fake media. Which drives Republicans to sources that reinforce trumps view of the world. I know im the last person you would listen to. But im begging everyone to realize there is a Russian operation to divide us. To destabilize our way of life. We are sliding toward fascism.

Yes. We should not throw around terms like fascism too casually. There is a difference between a right wing government and a fascist government. But I do agree however that fascism historically has come in a somewhat incremental fashion. That why certain specific policies and ideologies (ie white supremacy) must be opposed.

And I’m not even getting into paying off porn stars and Playboy models to avoid hurting his election campaign. Or paying a $2 million fine for operating a bullshit “charitable” foundation. Or having to pay out $25 million for bilking unsuspecting dupes who attended the bogus Trump “University.”
