Sorry, we still pay for 70% of NATO. Macron and Trudeau need to step up, pay their share and spend more on defense instead of letting us pay their way.

Trump will back off when the rest of the fucking NATO countries pony up their fair shares. We have been the village idiots for decades as we have allowed countries to be slackers. We spend valuable U.S. dollars paying way more than our share of NATO defense, while Canada, Germany and most of the other NATO allies skate.
We are at 3.25% of GDP and Germany and Canada are less than 1.5%.....

Many reasons as to why we pay more - one being that we have a very large military industry, so we're spending on our own companies. You can also look at the number of bases we have outside of our borders - way more than any other country. Being the 'world's police' is very expensive and it is not being paid just because we are in NATO. But no matter how you slice it, NATO is waaaay paid for by the US and most NATO countries enjoy protection on our dime.
Sure, like always, Trump says incorrect things when he tries to criticize their under spending. BFD, it's just the way he speaks. But he is correct to chastise their BS. Only 9 of 29 members have upped their spending to 2% GDP. Since there is no penalty for under spending, not all will, typical toothless political agreement. They can knock Trump for how stupid he speaks but I don't give a rat's ass what cheap political bastards think. They live under US protection so they can spend generously on their domestic social programs and tout themselves as superior.
I think we should pull out of the Philippines first, fuck Duterte.

The reason we pay more is because we allow foreign interference in our internal politics. Remember all the whining about "foreign interference in our elections?" It's the same, but different.
Foreign countries lobby and pay off our representatives with money/gifts to get them to vote in their favor, and not in favor or America or the People.
We know they don't pay their fair share. And every President, Republican and Democrat has turned a blind eye, in favor of cash and campaign contributions.
Trump is the first and only to say hell no to that! Pay your fair share!
And why people think he is such a fucker I will never understand. Must be the abortion issue!
