SF has had a number of calls this past year. Still comatose.
|
|
What do you expect sf is the most 'liberal' city in the country.
Hell they keep re-electing pelosi even after she got busted for insider trading. If she wasn't in congress at the time she'd have a felony on her record today.

They could care less, they are that brain dead
|

Man, that's awful.
San Francisco's going to have a terrible time attracting any new residents.
Rent could plummet to $5 per square foot/month.
|
|
Wait till the Dodgers sign Bumgarner...holy crap.
|
|
They got all the Government they asked for.

the city is in terrible shape. I lived there about 20 years ago.
I returned there couple of months ago. It's full of all these liberals drinking italian wines and sipping cappuccinos "pretending" not to see what's going on in front of them. really bad.

Human shit piling up in the streets is usually an indicator that there's a problem...
|
|
They aren't moving the HQ, just an annual conference. Vegas is better suited for conventions.
|
|
And they have looser slots...
...if you get my drift.
Yeah, that was lame
|
|
the HQ will be next

good for Las Vegas. California is so fucked! Homeless degenerates need to be rounded up like Feral animals and disposed of.
|
|
Yep,SanFrancisco is so bad a 1200 sqft rear down is 1.1 mil. Of course you could always move to reliably red Alabama where you can live above the Dairy Queen for 400 bucks a month.
So you hate the homeless. What is your solution ? Shoot them ? Put them in prison camps ? Drive them across state lines ? Spend money on more prisons and make it a crime to be poor or mentally ill ? Id love to hear the complainers ideas.

that was deblasio's great idea, he sent them to new jersey and paid for rent in the ghetto's
|
|
Absolutely Bill Delassio had the NYPD round up the cities poor under armed guards and marched them over the bridge to New Jersey....😂😂😂.
Where do you trumpies get this crap?

The homeless situation is definitely not an easy one to solve. I think KaiserSolce has some knowledge and expertise in this area that he's shared before on here. Just throwing money at the situation isn't the solution, and neither is ignoring the fact that many of them suffer from substance abuse issues and mental health issue that need to be addressed at the same time.

I think the problem is inequality. I think the proper liberal solution is to ban bathrooms, toilets and indoor plumbing. That way, everyone is equal. Nancy will get to squat next to her lucky constituents.

I wish I had more of an answer.
UCLA recently released a study that said about 70% of the homeless in LA County have either a substance abuse problem or mental illness. Our laws no longer allow the mentally ill to be involuntarily committed unless they are a danger to themselves or others. You can’t force an addict into rehab. Even if you could... it wouldn’t work for the majority of abusers.
It seems about 15% are the working poor without the skills to earn a living wage in California.
The remaining 10-15% simply choose to live that way. I meet with a small group of homeless in Santa Monica each month. Some of them are quite bright and have usable skills but cannot function responsibly. By that I mean show up on time to a job, get along with co-workers and complete assigned tasks consistently.
Our mild climate, generous citizens and friendly state, county and city polices attract homeless from all over the country.
I have worked on affordable housing programs for years in the Inland Empire. The only real success I have seen has been housing low income seniors.
We have had a little success helping the working poor get into housing. (helping with first/last and utility deposits) We would teach basic budgeting and financial management... but most could not develop the discipline necessary to live successfully at or below the poverty line. It can be done but it is difficult in a culture where everyone lives like they have disposable income.
Within a year they end up back on the streets. The property owner ends up in a 6-8 month eviction process. They lose money and property is usually damaged beyond what a deposit would cover. That makes property owners unwilling to risk renting to those with poor credit histories, work histories and prior evictions.
I understand civic leaders desire to solve the problem... but so far... I haven’t seen any large scale successes.
|
|
I don’t mean to say there is no solution... it’s just I haven’t seen them yet. I have seen anecdotal, individual successes... but nothing that has worked in a way that gives us hope for large numbers of people.

Bird says: I think the problem is inequality. I think the proper liberal solution is to ban bathrooms, toilets and indoor plumbing. That way, everyone is equal. Nancy will get to squat next to her lucky constituents.
Comrade Trump has a plan and I am sure Bird will love it. He plans on collecting all the homeless people and busing them out of the city into the desert and put them in cages. Expect an announcement soon.
This is no joke.

Here is the other issue with dealing with the homeless.
No one. Conservative, Progressive, Libertarian etc... wants the solution to be in their neighborhood.
I feel bad for the homeless... and for those who pay high property taxes to live in a nice place to have it fouled by homeless people who pay nothing to live there,
How many HX people would love to live near the beach in Santa Monica... but just cant’t afford to? And those that have been smart enough... talented enough or just lucky enough to have made some money, to have their dream home... can’t let their family walk to the store or the Strand.
Bangkok lover would be against moving the Homeless to a shelter in the desert... but he would also be against them opening a shelter on the block where he lives.
Again... everyone is for a solution as long as it doesn’t impact them.

Maybe you better listen to your buddy deblasio
That’s exactly what they did, which is why New Jersey is during him and my
They suspended the program yesterday after sending nearly 5000 homeless to jersey

cant wait for the the announcement. The Desert seems like an ideal place. Maybe supply them With enough drugs to OD and the problem takes care of itself. I'm sure California Liberals think getting High on narcotics is a civil liberty and a constitutional right.
|
|
I'm sure many liberals are absolutely giddy that life expectancy of U.S. whites is declining. Let's bring everyone down to the lowest. Same in education. Same with health care. Same with everything.

$64 million is a rounding error for San Francisco's economy.
They could care less.
Seriously, 64mil by 500 Billion (yearly GDP of San Fran (2017 data) is 0.000128%
Insignificant.
