Mobile mail PM broken?
Dec 13 2019 09:33AM more by happyguy63
Tags: LA, Technical Site Stuff (All tags)

Today when I tried to send PM from my phone, does not seem to work. I can open the window but as soon as I type a character, the SEND button disappears.

Phone PMs have always been a bit weird but have made them work.

Is anyone else seeing this or just me?

Type of phone you’re using?

Web browser you’re using to access the site?

Chrome / Galaxy S7
all worked last time I tried, a few days ago. AFAIK no change to my device,

Also cannot post comment to blogs or send PMs, but seems I can originate a blog. (obviously this is sent from my desktop as I was not able to send from mobile)

Did you power it down? Not just turn the screen off but make it to shut completely off and then turn back on so it goes through it’s reboot process?

If that doesn’t work, is there a way to do a deep reboot? I know on Apple products if you hold the power button down for 30 seconds past the power slider appears, it will turn off and turn back on.

Nobody has seen this or has any ideas?
Looks like site made other recent changes, and well has a history of not being competent when it comes to software changes...

I have this issue. S7 on chrome. My solution is to hit the "Attach links" button which forces the send button to drop down. If you have passed this step then highlight your entire message and CUT it. Hit attach link, then paste message, then hit send.

PS sometimes you have to hit both for a long message like this one.

JustHavinFun1 sent this, asked me to share here as he can't:

Hi there. Per you Dec-13 blog, I'm having big problems with the text box that pops up when I type.

- I can PM if I press the attached links first.

- I cannot reply in Blogs or Clubs at all to let people know, no matter what I do.

- I cannot even submit a support ticket to HX to let them know.

I'm using a Samsung S10/Chrome

Appreciate if you could paste the above in your original blog, because I have no other way to let anyone know.

I have a Samsung Note 9 and I have been having the exact same issue. I type a letter and the send button disappears. The only way I have found around this issue is to hit the button that says Blind. That seems to prevent the send button from disappearing on me. Perhaps this will be a temporary fix for the time being. Hope this helps.

Same problem as well. Pixel 2/chrome.

My work around is to use the canned response, and the send button will reappear, and then delete the canned response. So you can save down a 1 letter or word canned response and try that.

Same issue, looks like the JavaScript or something is making the pm window overlap the send button when text is put in there.
Easy solve is turn your phone on it's side and make sure "screen rotation" is on then you can access the send button.

Sounds like this is an issue with Android phones using Chrome? Maybe someone can get HX one for Christmas so they have a way to replicate this issue.
