I would go to Mammoth over big bear its bigger and more runs to ride on. If you stay in the Village you can take the Gondi up to Canyon or warming hut 2 and your on the runs, check the web.
Both are best weekdays weekend can be a shit show, check out Snowman Mammoth weather daly weather and photo' s Have Fun and wax up.

That's way better than Big Bear.

The snow is exponentially better in Utah
Brian Head is 1.5 hours northeast of Vegas.
Lift tickets are still cheap $45 vs Mammoth at $149-$169 per day

I stayed in one some time ago. They are very cold! We transfered to a hotel the next night.
