As a general rule, I think most guys prefer long hair and most women look better with longer hair than short hair. Despite that, sometimes women can pull off short hair (even no hair) and look very sexy. But generally, the same woman with longer hair looks better.
For a personal example that is on point, I use to date a very attractive girl in my personal life who had long, beautiful hair. Years after we lost touch we spoke again and she told me that she remembered that I had recommended that she should keep her hair long since I felt long is always better than short. She decided to cut her hair short after we broke up (despite my suggestion) and she said that the constant attention she used to get (she was model-level good looking) immediately stopped. Only after she grew her hair back did guys give her the attention that she had used to receive before she cut her hair.

Big damage to my pretty much until then solid marriage was when my wife cut her LONG BEAUTIFUL BLONDE HAIR off. There is a picture in my mind of us making love with her absolutely stunning blonde hair spread out around her head and shoulders.... big loss for me. She did it because it was too much of a hassle to take care of... telling of sloth to come...

It always depends on the person, but I think shorter hair on women is kewl. Especially since it's not as common.
