Just read the letter....
1. No way the President wrote it. He probably didn’t even read it.
2. He is a master at publicity
3. He needed to get his argument on a record somewhere from him.
4. Few people (by that I mean hundreds of thousands, maybe a couple million) will read it. But a lot of people will talk about it.
5. Its enough to convince some who have been undecided and not following the coverage.
6. Pelosi said, “I didn’t read it.” LOL. That’s like our comment after a long post “DIDN’T READ.” I would have have thought she would have at least acted like she read it.
“Yes, I read every word. Since it came from the President, I took the time to review it carefully. After reading it, I realized it was just another attempt for him to avoid being held accountable for his crimes.”
But... she may have realized a reporter might ask about specific details... then she’d be stuck if she couldn’t deflect quickly enough.
I can’t imagine the WH thought it would change anything... but wanted a document clearly stating their argument. And the buzz it would generate.
