User names and related email addresses are clearly compromised..... Data going years back. I've left and retur Ed a couple times myself and I got one for this handle and ones deleted many many years ago
Thanks HX.
I use a dedicated handle root name, similar dedicated email addy, laptop and cell phone ( which allows me to change numbers 4 times per year with no charge).
Hack all want Mao, I'll just roll it.
I bet the host dumped obsolete hard drives.
And I wonder why the chinese ( lower case) 'accept' all our e-waste...
They bought new hard drives and didn't bother to wipe the old ones, just sent them to China?

There has been a data breach of HX. The evidence from HX and users is overwhelming.
HX initially claimed "we do not see any evidence of an actual data breach".
We now know that is not accurate--there is plenty of evidence whether they "see" it or not.
Perhaps they were trying to avoid legal and regulatory rules and requirements that kick in when there is a data breach. There has been one.
I don't understand why users are "thanking" the site for failing to protect our data. Assume most are being sarcastic in response to the site's words about the strong security measures and strict access controls-- laughable given the events that have happened.
Also note HX promised to devote all resources into looking in to this and report back ASAP.
HX users deserve an update on the status, what was released, and the extent of the damage.

I agree with HG. There should be some updates at the very least.
The "thank yous" come across as a bit misplaced, no?

Maybe we should all change our humanicons to Winnie the Pooh as tribute to chairman Xi.

I can update the community with information from my end. I've stopped receiving the emails. The last one I received was on Friday, 12/20.
sorry phyre, but aoc doesn't agree with you....
@Night-Rider
how many did you get?
I've stopped receiving the emails too.
I had a bunch of old handles that are no longer active. I got 9 emails for 6 different handles. The emails were sent on 12/19 and 12/20. I haven't received anything since.

I'm being redirected to humaniplex.com/index.html lol the mirroring of websites is rampant pls pay attention to urls people.

Still no update. Words like looking in to it and devoting resources mean more when there is follow through.
HX has access to lots of personal and sensitive data. If they are not coming forth with facts after this time, it is reasonable to assume the worst
It is sad that users are trying to piece this together by sharing info on blogs rather than being informed.
As for phyre, usual b.s., doesn't value his privacy and can't understand why most of us do. (Plus it is the law to disclose data breaches, but he thinks TOS and law apply when he chooses).
If you meet him, be sure to take some of his stuff or help yourself to a few bills from his wallet. Looks like he will give you that vacant smile and thank you.
Funny thing is if a user, even accidentally, shares personal data in a blog, he would be calling for all kinds of censure, ex comm, ...
But if the site discloses lots of personal data to strangers through failure to protect.... he says thank you sir may I have another.

It is not reasonable to assume the worst. We know that someone has access to handles and associated email addresses. That is all. That is the only information the "hacker" has shared with us users. There is no evidence the "hacker" has other information such as passwords. There is no evidence the "hacker" has broken into any accounts.
I should note the "hacker" has stopped sending these emails. It has been four days since I got my last one. It is disconcerting this information has leaked out, but it doesn't seem the "hacker" has been able to do very much, in my opinion.
Still, there was a data breach, and it would be helpful if Hx finds the evidence of this data breach and figures out what information has been taken. Realize, this search will take time, so be patient.

maybe this site could start by using HTTPS. There is no way you are serious about security if you don't employ this basic level of security.
The site DOES use https, has for awhile now, if you aren't getting https access, maybe try a different browser or update or reinstall your current browser.
the certs on this site are not correct. there are mising intermediate certificate(s). The admins should provide not only the site's cert, but any needed intermediate certificates as well.
What you talking about Willis?
i would love an update. even just a check in..... just because the emails stoped does not mean the threat went away
