The only one on the left who has a shot at the popular vote is Biden. Long shot with the Electoral College.
The problem for the Democrats will be turnout. None of the current candidates are inspiring/engaging. They will always get their faithful 30-35% then there is the other 7-10% that will always vote blue... if you can get them to show up. They did for Obama. Didn’t for Hilary.
Every Trump supporter will be voting in November. He will get his share of middle voters. Without Us falling into recession... Trump will be HARD to beat.

Generally, negative thoughts demotivate a person from going out to vote. Positive ones motivate. "Make America Great Again" was a positive for many people who voted for Trump. Getting conservative justices was another one, for religous folk. It was these ideas that helped Trump win.

I think you are over reading the Trump hate vote. He truly has those who hate him... and they will come out and vote ... but most people are apathetic.
In 2016 EVERYONE was surprised. The left was outraged because they over read the “dumb/unqualified” voters. Meaning, “I think he is dumb and unqualified... I heard it on TV. Everyone agrees with me.” It wasn’t even close to “Everyone.” Hence the shock and outrage.
The reality is, the People who hate Trump with a passion are loud about it... but most (like my SO) don’t care. Most say to themselves, “I have a few more dollars in my pocket. My retirement fund is doing well. I don’t want anyone messing with MY healthcare. I hear about how Trump is ruining America... but my life hasn’t been affected. I am in a little better place than I was 4 years ago. I heard the crazy white-haired guy is communist or socialist or something... I don’t know. The lady is promising a lot of free stuff, but how can it be free? Joe Biden, I know that name. He was the Vice President with Obama... but He isn’t Obama. Ehhhh. I don’t know. Whatever. I’ll let them (others) decide.”
Remember, the Republicans aren’t doing ANY Trump media buys right now. After the conventions come this summer and the Democrats choose their candidate... the fight begins. Unless something significant happens... (Recession) that actually impacts people, they will just stay home.
