Unfortunately they won't vacate it. What they should do is fine them an amount commensurate with the revenue generated from the post season at least. And vacate it.

They did not only cheat at the World Series. They apparently did it most or all of the season. They should be also stripped of their division and league titles. WS winners share goes to the Dodgers.

The Astros hit .260BA at home. At dodger stadium they hit .209BA The reason for cheating..
Because it works. Its funny.. breaking the rules and norms. As in politics ignoring rules and norms threatens the credibility and stature of government. MLB will do what it can. To me no team won the WS in 2017 and 2018. What the Astros and redsox have done is turn two great seasons by the dodgers into meaningless shit. Of course the dodger fans took it out on the players, dave and the FO. Typical.

The MLB should vacate the title and award LA the win.
Not baseball related but LA is due payback after 2004 when USC had to vacate an entire season's 13-0 win/loss record and a BCS championship win where they pummeled Oklahoma 55-19... All because the school allegedly provided some renatal assistance to Reggie Bush's parents.
Not even directly related to cheating by a single player much less the team. But USC suffered from significant recruiting sanctions for years after and even now are not back to National Title Contention

Everyone says Astros cheated, but what has MLB done to fight sign stealing?
Everyone here sends encrypted data all the time. It's so ingrained in our lives, we don't even think about it. How about giving catchers and pitcher communication devices, so that stealing sigs is next to impossible. Remember, In the NFL Q-backs have radios in their helmets!

Just another reason I'm disgusted with pro sports in general. And college sports isn't far behind.
But MLB should definitely strip the ASS-tros of the WS and give it to the Dodgers. Same with the Dead Sox. Strip 'em, and make them pay such heavy penalties that every other organization will think twice before cheating ever again. And when they cheat anyway, come down on them even harder.

This makes NO SENSE to me!!! If one team is sending signs to each other does the other team have to either turn away or close their eyes while they are sending signs. Someone from the dugout oughtta be able to see the signs and if the team sending the signs can send them to their pitcher what's wrong with the other team reading the signs and sending them to the batter???

Sign stealing just caught up to the electronic/digital age. Maybe the Astros were first in using somewhat advanced techniques. Clubs have been using cameras, movie cameras etc in the past. Many now suspect the famous Bobby Thompson homer in the 1950s was from a stolen sign from a camera of some sort. It is a bit self righteous all this clamor now. Baseball is at least back in the news, perhaps overshadowing the NFL.

The way sign stealing was dealt with in the past was hitting the best player on the team doing the stealing up side his head. Problem solved. In the modern era the use of technology to steal signs is serious shit. Its as bad as fixing a game. Standing at 2nd base trying to relay to the hitter what pitch i think is coming is one thing. Using a camera mounted somewhere it cant be seen to send a video feed to a monitor close to the dugout where the batter is warned the off speed pitch is coming. And be ready for the fastball. This turns baseball into pro wrestling.

Well I have always thought if someone is stealing your signs then change them. Hell in football guys put paper in front of their face to avoid having their lips read. Now granted you should not have to worry about cameras in the outfield but I do believe the best thing to do is understand folks wants to steal your signs and you can change them. Hell the pitcher can give the signs to the catcher while the catcher is going through fake signs. There are lots of ways to combat it and yeah they should be punished but the defense must do more to hide their signs.

It’s using the technology that’s the problem. You have always been able can have a base runner (someone actually in the game) try to “look in” and steal the sign. Then he would have to subtlety signal.
Bench coaches signal base coaches, base coaches signal players. Nothing wrong with trying to figure out what they are saying.
The problem is when you use people and equipment that are not part of the game to influence the game.
Having some guy in the center field bleachers with binoculars and a radio/cell phone is the same thing.

Hitting a curve ball is harder than hitting a fast ball. That's why most batters try to wait till they think they're getting a fast ball to swing. On the flip side throwing a good curve ball is harder than throwing a good fast ball, which is why pitchers throw more fast balls.

Velocity is just one aspect. A 100MPH straight fastball with no movement is totally hittable. Especially if you know it's coming. Yeah, MLB players do some amazing things. Just because you cant you cant do it doesn't mean its hard to do. The hardest pitch to hit is a fastball with movement.

Darvish was the first person I thought of when the news broke. that guy is a class act.
How about Kershaw. People say he is not a Hall of Famer because he never won the "big One" Look at his pitching differentials between LA and Houston during the season.
What about some of these astros players who signed big contracts because of their numbers while playing for Huston - Or more fairly the teams that have over payed them.

players got immunity to tell it all, but if they did not disclose it all like using the electronic buzzers and had ommissions, makes sense to go back and revise the deal they got for a more commensurate punishment

I have been a dodger fan since 1962 probably. Used idolize Wally Moon who wore number 9. A contributing factor in my choice for a handle! There have been many comments about they should make Houston vacate their World Series win and award it to the Dodgers. I wholeheartedly agree. There’s also suggestions that the Boston Red Sox should vacate their World Series win and give it to the Dodgers. This one I’m not sure about. Even though I loathe every sports franchise in the city of Boston, The Boston Red Sox were far and away the better team in 2018.

Some guy in the dugout or in the 1st or 3rd coaches box steals (or more
precisely ... sees) a sign and he then picks his nose or scratches his ass.
The batter then sees this and knows a curve is coming???
This isn't particularly dramatic, but the news agencies have made it more
dramatic than the soap operas!! I'm also sure that the team owners know
WITHOUT A DOUBT that drama will make them $$'s and more drama
will make them more $$'s!! .... and
