In a real sense, Kobe is LA. When he died something in us died. Grieving can take time as it moves thru its stages.

All the buses still say RIP KOBE, people still congregating down at Staples Center.
I have NEVER seen this type of grief expressed for anyone.

I don't follow basketball, but the few times I heard Kobe speak, he did so articulately, unlike our
president.
I feel sorry for the loss of Kobe, but lookingla2013 has a point. As a society we idolize the wrong people. Those that invent cures and other benefits to mankind usually go unnoticed.

One of the reasons Kobe's impact is so great here in Los Angeles is that the Lakers bring people together. No matter if you're rich or poor, white or black, jewish or muslim or even Dem or GOP we can have collectively shared good memories of the Lakers and things Kobe did on the court. From winning 5 championships to scoring 81 points in a game. Kobe was like a superman in purple and gold. No he did not cure cancer but I bet if he studied medicine instead of playing basketball he just might have.

Nice tributes for Kobe at the All Star Game.
Sort of getting tired of Magic Johnson always trying to get his face front and center.
The guy lost major props when he tried to fuck up the Lakers Free Agency this summer because he was mad a Rob Pelinka. That was a real bitch move.
All the tributes are well deserved but hopefully the 24th will be the last one.

He’s at the cemetery across the street from me. I see people their daily dropping off TONS of flowers. According to the cemetery manager, people are placing their gifts on a grave that’s not Kobes. I’m thinking he’d be in a private building anyway. Maybe even in a vault above ground.
I look back at my life and I used to sell mausoleum estate to the Chinese. They get serious with their funerals. 😂
I think I’m more of a cremation kinda person now.

The pilot was at some point, approved to fly. Would've thought the other families would've sued Kobe Bryant's Estate for wrongful death. Looks like he didn't own the Helo or employ the pilot. I feel more wrongful death suits will be filled

The one thing I think was fucked up. They didn't let Kobe's father or mother or sisters speak. They had to just sit there.....thats was wrong.

I don’t know if he was or wasn’t.
I just know very few of us know the challenges that come with being a rich, world famous athlete.
I have also learned it’s hard to know the truth if you weren’t there.
I know two different people who say they know police officers involved in the actual investigation.
1 said there was damning evidence against Bryant.
The other said there was evidence of sex, impossible to tell if it was or wasn’t consensual and her rush to a civil suit before the criminal matter was concluded pointed to a money grab.
Both guys are reputable. So I don’t know.
I do know after that.... he did an awful lot of good.
Guilty conscience trying to make up for a horrible thing?
Or
A good guy just trying to do good?
I don’t know.
