I HATE VALENTINE'S DAY.
the showing of love is good. everyone, male or female, need some form of love. EVEN if it's an animal. they feel pain and sorrow too.

Hallmark said, "When you care enough to send the very best." That could be any day not just when V-Day or any other holiday rolls around. Flower shops have flowers everyday, so when the mood strikes, go for it! Cards, flowers, candy, whatever...show love or like and make someone's day; any day!

I once received a beautiful bouquet of flowers from a girlfriend. I was totally blown away and obviously not expecting it.
When it comes to Valentines Day or any holiday or birthday, normally men are the ones who are expected by more than a few women to step up in the gift department.
I agree with Addison that gifts should be given just because you appreciate the people in your life.
I can say from experience that when you give a gift when it is not expected the satisfaction I get fare exceeds any gift given because it is generally expected by the receiver of the gift.

I’m a big sucker for flowers and chocolate I love anything Valentines themed but flowers and chocolate are my favorite

chocolates... like mixed chocolates? nuts and chews? soft centers?
i think, chocolate truffles are the best...
a dusting of cocoa powder on the outside,
just chocolate centers, or flavored centers.
Kahlua truffles, orange, strawberry, blueberry, or apple... flavored chocolate centers.
Costco has a box of chocolate truffles on occasion, 2- 8-oz bags of cocoa chocolate truffles! delightful!
