Back on topic ... Which is worse?? A liar or a thief??
I agree with TheDude, GoBallsDeep, InsatiableStar (and her Grandpa), and Magick ... All liars are thieves (they attempt to steal the truth ... and often succeed).
But IMO, the worst of the lying thieves are DRAMATIC LYING THIEVES!
And have any of you noticed the following?? When Hillary is speaking in public and is asked a question, does she
1) Just answer the question??? Or
2) Look around at the audience (deciding what would the majority of the people in the
audience like to hear) and then just babble out what she thinks they want to hear??

Liars continue on, even after they get caught.
Most thieves end up getting caught because their success emboldens them. The longer they get away with it. Their greed drives them to take a little more than the last time. Rare is the thief with the discipline and self-control to limit himself/herself.
That is the story of most embezzlers. They would have gotten away with it... but they couldn’t stop... and they had to increase their take.

Both are bad! And carry equal weight IMHO...For example, your girlfriend stole $1000 FROM your wallet WHILE you were sleeping. But little did she know, a hidden video was running during the time
of the incident. You confront her ! And she lies about it, even though you presented her with a video...
She starts to cry, and then proceeds to give you some bomb head, then you question if the person in the video is her .....LOL
In short, bomb head trumps cheating, lies, and thievery
