Who is Vanessa, and who is she suing?
That Guurl!
^^^ hello, are you kidding?
she is doing it to counter all the lawsuits that are going to be directed at her estate, all of the other passengers families will 100% sue the Kobe estate.
greedy
She is right to if the pilot really did fly when it was not safe, but Kobe requested for the flight to continue. The families will be suing Kobe's estate so she is doing this to make sure she does not lose any of her money.
^^^^ good point !
Maybe she's helping the other families with their lawsuit(s) against the helicopter company. If she didn't jump on, they would more than likely get stonewalled. I believe that she started it to help prop them up. Kobe and his estate have no culpability in the crash, they were all the same.. Innocent passengers.
Just my 2 cents..

I have read quite a bit about the crash and investigation. I have not seen that Kobe requested the flight to continue. Requested of who? Even thought the pilot and the helicopter were both certified to fly using instruments.... the company itself was not certified to fly in low/no visibility conditions.
Even if Kobe had requested... the pilot is responsible for operating the aircraft safely and within its certifications.
The company’s liability policy will pay out the aggregate immediately... after that the owners had better hope they didn’t pierce the corporate veil in the operation of the company.
I’m sure all of the company assets will be liquidated to pay. The question will be if the corporation was managed correctly to protect the owners.
If they made one house payment to a mortgage company, one payment on a personal car loan, one non-payroll deposit or documented reimbursement into a personal account... etc... the gig is up. A good lawyer will argue (and probably win) that company assets and personal assets were the same.
Bang... everything becomes attachable.

greed has zero percent in this thing....they are worth upwards of 500m bucks
this is more preemptive and helping the other people in the crash...there might be stuff out there that kobe pressured the pilot, and maybe this is to help combat that aspect of it.
don't think the people left in those families will be worried about money issues for the future...with insurance payouts and kobe's family money to help with whatever they need
helicopter business that is incorporated with attornies would know better than to do shit like that...every year they seem to be going down in Hawaii and other places, so just matter of time for tragedy to strike.
CPA's would be pounding them yearly on that stuff...not all corp's carry that kind liability risk that trumps insurance coverage
Greed? If a helicopter company was negligently responsible for the death of your husband and offspring wouldn't you want them to pay the only way that hurts corporations?
The Pilot In Command of the helicopter was he ONLY one responsible, unless cockpit video (no such thing) shows Kobe holding a gun to his head.
Where does the "Kobe pressured the pilot" stuff come from? This is all conjecture until some solid evidence of it comes forward...and I highly doubt it.
Although Kobe never went to college, he was a highly intelligent individual, especially for an athlete. His speaking style was very articulate. While many basketball players retired broke, he was worth half a billion dollars. He transitioned from sports to entertainment, and won an Oscar in two years!
That Kobe would object to a pilot saying that the weather was too bad to continue is ludicrous. Especially with his daughter on board and six other additional souls, who were very close to him there as well. I highly doubt that that happened.
The pilot made an error in judgment. It is his aircraft, 100%. He is the pilot, and responsibility for its safety and that of his passengers falls squarely on him.
Does Kobe's estate have liability because he invited these guests onboard? Time will tell, along with a jury.

Yes. It may not take too long for the other families to be equal parties in Vanessas suit. Their claims should be similar. I am sure there are attorneys who would love to go after Kobe and Vanessas money. The only way would be if there are cell phone or text massages that can be subpoenaed. If so might be able to see if Kobe has any role. But even if he said something it is the sole responsibility of the pilot unless some extreme pressure was applied to him

Kaiser Good to see you are back
this is what I learned from business law class:
SUE everybody in sight for everything in sight.
this is California. class taught by a lawyer.
this is to establish LIABILITY. make deepest pocket pay. think punative damages.
Anyone that didn’t see this lawsuit coming is blind.
If it were just my spouse on that helicopter the motivation for the suit might be greed, or it might be to make them pay. If it’s my off spring on that helicopter, I want them out of business and suffering, money is not my primary concern.
Greed! Plain and simple to be exact.
Gordon Gekko:
"The point is, ladies and gentleman, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right, greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind."

You would think that kobe should have been on the phone ordering cars or limos to where the edge of the fog was and tell the pilot to land somewhere.
even if a fine was issued for landing on a street somewhere they would still be alive
I'm very afraid she's gonna spend all the insurance and lawsuit money on food.
She got big as a house
“Anyone that didn’t see this lawsuit coming is blind. “
Bro... if that were my family.... I would have been at the court house just as the helicopter hit the ground. That lawsuit would have been filed before they removed the smoldering corpses from the wreckage.
She’s doing it to protect herself because she’s going to get sued by the passengers on the helicopter and they’re going to sue the helicopter company
The lawyers are going to sue anyone and everyone involved in the slightest manner and will milk them for every penny possible and take 1/2 for their fees.
