This is a social networking site. Didn’t realize one could only network with members of the opposite sex. Or even had to be networked in order to create or respond to blogs. What I think the site was concerned about is whether or not the profile in question is a positive or negative influence on the site. As long as they meet the minimum requirements to join the site and aren’t doing harm or harassing anyone, they have just as much right to be here as anyone else.

I don't see an issue with same sex ratings. Ratings are about trust. When you rate someone, you are in effect, vouching for that person.
Sometimes guys and gals bring their friends on the site and rate them showing people that there is a level of trust.
I trust a person with one in person rating, male or female from a someone I trust over 20-30 ratings from people I don't know.
If someone is on these blogs to harass and insult people and take blogs off topic, that is presently being addressed and you are seeing those people disappearing from the blogs or the site.
If you are taking blogs off topic or harassing or insulting people that have a legitimate question, you are painting a target on your back for blogging restrictions or account termination.
Some people are here or were previously here and just want to participate and hang out with their friends. Maybe they're on hiatus from dating and just want to contribute or chill with community members or their friends. Nothing wrong with that.

I'm sorry (Not Really) my presence strikes fear in your heart.
Because you brought up the issue of safety... I will address it.
As Mr. Jones expressed so eloquently, this is a social networking site. If you read the Terms of Service (which I am sure you haven't) there is no single purpose behind the sites existence. Members are free to use it for their own legal social interaction reasons. That you choose to use it in a very narrow scope is your choice.
I originally joined the site about 12-13 years ago. That handle (sanberdude) had a decent network. In 2014 I got married to a woman I love deeply. When we wed... I gave her a promise of my faithfulness. I take promises seriously.
It isn't that I am not tempted by the beautiful ladies of HX. I am. But my promise means more to me than fulfilling a selfish desire. You see, she thinks I am a man of integrity. She thinks my word means something. I could not stand to see the look of hurt and disappointment in her eyes if I were to not be faithful to my promise. Not to her! To my Promise. Who would believe I am a trustworthy when I deceive the woman I say I love... and then tell you fuckers can trust me. That has got to be the DUMBEST thing I have ever heard.
I know... everybody lies about sex. No... they don't.
Don't get me wrong, I judge no man(or woman). Everyone has their own reasons and situations. We all make our own choices. We all set our own value systems. We all have feet of clay.
My choice was to leave the site. After a couple of years... I began to miss the interaction I had here. My wife is an educated and intelligent woman. But current events, political issues, guns, bar-b-q etc... is not in her wheel house. They just don't interest her.
In my years as a member of HX... I have met hundreds of people. Some have become lifelong friends. We blog in clubs about topics we enjoy. We meet in person and share life. I trust them. They trust me. I would help them and serve them any way I could. I think one or two of them may feel the same way about me. That list of friends is growing... both male and female. I care about them and I would do all I could to protect them. I could probably add 20 people to my network today with just a few PMs. But why? So Corndog can feel better about my comments about Joe Biden? Get the fuck outa here!
Why do I blog in RA? I spent over 30 years building a couple of businesses. A couple years ago I sold them. I am not rich by any stretch of the imagination... but now I get to spend my days as I choose. I have a few hobbies. I have a few projects... and I like mixing it up in the blogs. In spite of some of the rancor... there are some insightful ideas that occasionally float around. In most of the political stuff... there is rarely right and wrong... its usually just different values trying to be pushed to the front. Obviously different values mean different ways of getting things done. I have enjoyed Alexis's recent input. We don't agree on some things... but she is obviously a bright lady.
Where else can I go to laugh at the pointless ramblings of a guy like Fecal Matter Lebowski. I like that he says I am a shill. It adds to my credibility. Everyone knows he is full of shit and dumb as a box of rocks... so anything he types... I know most of the people on the site will think exactly the opposite.
So there you go... Any questions? You better ask somebody!

To your question...we are on different schedules... and after years of work... I continue to be an early riser... and sometimes a night owl because as Louis CK once said, At a certain age... naps are better than sex. And yes... sometimes I blog when she is around. Occasionally I will even ask her opinion about a comment I am making if it is in one of her areas of expertise.
Granite... Your thought was my initial thought. But... I care about safety issues on HX even if they may not effect me in the same way they effect others. Although It’s pretty obvious Corndog had an ulterior motive, and a ridiculous concern... I take safety concerns seriously. Literally people’s lives are at stake.
The greatness of HX are the safety protocols in place for its members. Anyone who has been around for any period of time knows if you use them they can minimize the possibility of being burned. I don’t want to do anything... or appear to do anything to undermine those.
A guy blogging about CoronaVirus or politics is zero threat to anyone. Hell... no one can count the ZEROS reading the blogs all day without commenting. So... are they safer?
Club owners get to set the standards, and exceptions for their clubs. There is no need to discuss that any further.
This becomes a recurring issue whenever I piss someone off. They were fine until I made them cry... then I’m a safety concern So I thought I would address it clearly and honestly for anyone who is concerned... answer their questions... and then finish it with a big FU.
