I love Black Labradors and German Shepherds but I don't want the responsibility of a pet. I even gave away my 40 gallon fish tank and fish.

You are absolutely right. I adopted a black and white little cat 19 years ago and I loved her the most. I didn't initially want her cause I normally had grey silver tabbies but she kind of grew on me and I kept her whole life span of 19 yrs. Something about preference for blonde or grey cats I guess kept me from getting a black one but I ended having her the longest and loved her a lot. In some ways I suppose it had initially been my preference for blonde friends that kept me from adopting a black pet. Glad I moved past that.

I adopted "tri-pod" (pit-lab mix) from a shelter, as they were going to put her down, because she had a tumor on her front right leg. Ended up needing to have the leg removed, after trying to treat for a couple years. She's still strong as can be 7 years later.
