Well, the green light has not been given, but it looks like it’s about to go down. As many of you know National Guard will soon be activated. Mostly to help screen and make sure everyone “plays nice” during this challenging times, but if you have not adjusted your lifestyle to very limited socialization, now is the time.

Unless it is official coming from the California Governor's office I would doubt that. We are not at that point. Deploying the NA guard state wide is massively expensive and exposes guard units unnecessarily to the virus.

I haven't read anything on that yet.
But it seems like the only logical choice.
The current strategy will only prolong it.
South Korea has shown it works.

So, if you're on the street, is it a shoot to kill situation?
Or, just shoot to maim then incarcerate with other Covid people?

Bear in mind that any lockdown makes provisions for going out to buy food and essentials like toilet paper so it's not like you're going to be a prisoner in your own home as your starve to death with a dirty asshole.

Not saying it's ideal - far from it - but we're not about to enter some sort of dystopian nightmare, at least not yet.

But not Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, the chief executive in a state of 29 million people.

Texas has reported more than 80 cases of the virus and three deaths related to the virus that causes COVID-19. But even as more and more governors impose sweeping restrictions, Abbott has held firm on deferring decisions about school and business closures to local authorities across 254 counties

Decisions by local authorities based upon the severity of the problem locally.
If Inyo County or Mono County have zero cases should they be held to curfews and lock downs as faggot central San Francisco?
That answer should be obvious except if you are an Liberal Fucktard Californian Politician. .

When the Governor called the National Guard out after the riots resulting from the Rodney King saga the National Guard had rifles that were not loaded. I would think the same might happen in this situation. The only way that might change would be if a number of National Guard members were attacked by civilians.

We are the only fucking nation on earth that breeds superbugs.

Catch a cold, have some fucking penicillin. Got a runny nose, get some z-pak, that doesn't work shit, take some levoquin. Got a flu, fuck the rest or any vaccine, because oh my religion forbids it. Now its straight to Tami-flu.

Its Anti-bacteria soap every fucking home. And on one thinks these fucking bugs will become superbugs and mutate into someone we can't kill.

Oh some shit happens, its a global pandemic and kill off the whole world economy. This shit only kills the elderly and obese, and sick. Guess what, elderly, obese and sick should be killed when they don't take care of themselves. Its natural selection. Let it happen. Much to the glee of Bill Gates and his likes.

How the fuck can a the world pre-dominant superpower not able to produce enough mask, gloves and testing kits? Fucking South Korea is pumping them out with surplus. China is doing the same. But Italy, Spain, US are increasing patients exponentially each week. Tells you something about the West doesn't it? All ruled by years of libs and socialists who knows nothing about correlation between healthcare and economics. Then comes a fucking dumb arrogant moron like Trump where every dumb fuck redneck thinks he's the next Jesus Christ. He's only slightly better than the libs. But he miscalculated this shit and now we're going into negative interest and a de facto recession. He is a fake conservative, a so called born again republican who used to be a democrat when the policies suited him. Someone from the right camp (except for Romney) should run against this orange fat fuck. I can't stand his stupidity for another 4 years.

I'm doing just fine shorting everything making a killing off TVIX. But shit, all businesses are connected, once the blue collar and low end white collar goes, a ton of industries get affected upstream and downstream. And it will hit all of us even if some of our professions are recession proof. Many of the hobbyists are landlords right, what if your tenants can't pay because they lost their jobs? And they stay and linger and cost you tens of thousands and months to move them out? Already over 100k jobs laid off this month in Food and Casino industries alone in Socal. Shits going to hit the fan real soon.

That graph of new cases is on track, running to the high side of the curve. Everything I've read indicates the spread of new cases have usually doubled every 3-4 days. Right now the spread in NY appears to be 3x every three days: you would expect a two week curve to go 1,3,9,27,81, 243, 729, +++. So we are looking like more like Italy than China in terms of growth rate of new cases.

Commercial testing facilities are ramping up the tests.
You will see a huge increase in confirmed infections, but not much change in total deaths.
Which means:
Don't freak out thinking these are a huge jump in infections. They been there the whole time, we're just getting them tested.
Based on 115 dead divided by 10,000 cases in the US, that's a death rate of 1.1%, it will drop under .5%.
This whole fucking episode should have been handled differently by specifically protecting the elderly and high risk people but NOT upending the 87% of the economy to cover for the failings of healthcare which is 17% of the economy.

We will lose more people to suicide over the next 6 months than to Covid due to BK, finances, loss of job, etc.

If had we handled the response to this pandemic perfectly, like South Korea, maybe we can get close to a 1% death rate. But we are handling this like Italy (or even worse), so the death rate can get shockingly high.

Italy’s health care system is failing. They can’t handle all who are sick, so many people are not able to get on respirators and many doctors and nurses are getting sick too for a lack of masks and other hospital supplies. That is exactly what is now happening in NYC.

So what it Italy’s death rate now? It was 6.4% three days ago, 7.4% yesterday, and 8.3% now.

Millions of people here and around the world are at risk of dying if people do not quarantine or shelter in place. Worst case scenario I’ve heard is 2.7 million can die in the United States alone if it gets out of control (one estimate was 12 million +, which seems unrealistic to me).

The fact that car companies are offering to manufacture respirators may help keep the death rate down. Governments wouldn’t shut down the economies of every country around the world if it weren’t very serious. This is much more serious than many on here claim it is.

US Cases as of noon 3-19-20: 10,443
US Deaths, same time: 150

Death rate = 1.43%

I'm guessing this thing will be over in 30 days.

However I would prefer you being right about 30 days. I say 2 weeks before humanity stops freaking out as much.

I think we all hope this will be over in 30 days, but unfortunately it doesn't look to be the case. By end of next week, the infection rates and deaths will like be increasing very quickly.

I spoke with a doctor yesterday who said that we will likely start seeing a decrease in infection rates in about 1.5 to 2 months, but it may take until the end of the year before things start getting back to normal.

During the daily news conference briefing yesterday, Trump's administration indicated that it is planning for as long as 18 months, but it is doubtful that it would last that long.

The Governor claims that 25 million Californians will be infected in the next 8 weeks.

If the speed of infection isn't slowed down (to flatten the curve), then a lot of people will die.

Slowing down the rate of infection through social distancing will prevent hospitals from being overwhelmed (we need hospital beds and respirators to be available for those who need them).

Gruesome is an imbecile that should be tarred, feathered and run out of town.
This fucking moron says 25 million Californians will get it, total count right now is about 1,000.
Then he wants a navy hospital ship opened up for use, which holds maybe 1,000 if you cram the beds together. Maybe we can get those 25 million into those 1,000 beds if we squeeze them together a little, right? Now the don't leave home order? Fuck Gruesome.
