I think it was worldclass on this site that said "If you guys keep listening to Trump you're going to end up dead" . That very prophetic. Trump = Fake News. Hows this bullshit Democratic Hoax working out for you Crane?

“”American news sources weren't considered fake prior to Trump's presidency.”
Everyone knew news was growing biased over the last 40 years. Like in most changes, it was an incremental shift. Little by little.
The problem was our understanding of the need for reverence for a free press made everyone hesitant to call them out. The idea that many of the mainstream sources are not biased is ridiculous.
There are multiple ways to ask a question and report a story. Phrasing and word choices usually expose a reporter/editor’s bias/agenda.
Pundits have been saying it for years. Trump was the first politician to aggressively speak out.
Does FOX have a worldview by which they present their stories? Yes.
Does MSNBC? Yes
Does NBC? Yes
Does CBS? Yes (but they have gotten better since Dan Rather was exposed)
CNN?
LA Times? Yes
NY Times? Yes
Washington Post? Yes
Wall Street Journal? Yes
Etc... Yes!
That is why it is important to recognize bias and agendas exist and read/watch multiple sources. But most won’t watch FOX and MSNBC because their confirmation bias makes them prefer one and dislike the other.

Wow!
Opie needs to do some history homework.
Most news sources have been biased since the first run of the printing press.
NYT, LAT, Murdoch's entire empire, AP, UPI, all biased
Reporters and journalists can't help but tell the rest of us how to vote and live our lives.
You're completely daft if you think one party is more or less guilty than the other.
|
|
A quick Google of the topic brings an article quoting George Washington being unhappy with the biased press. Seriously, do some homework before you post. It'll be less embarrassing.
|

Here's another comparing the biased press of Lincoln's day to today,
And, I'm NOT comparing Lincoln with Trump.
Just sharing the truth of our biased press thru history.

Kaiser - you are obviously a pretty smart dude, so I’m surprised you did not draw a distinction between fake news and biased news. As you pointed out, most of what you see and read on most news outlets is biased to a certain degree. Sources like Fox and MSNBC are more strongly biased than most. But most of it is not fake, although I seem to recall that Fox News has a much larger amount of inaccuracies than most of the other larger media outlets.
Fox’s early reporting on COVID-18 is an example of both bias and fake (or more correctly, inaccurate). They were toeing Trump’s line (or was he towing theirs?) and inaccurately reporting that COVID-19 was not much of a threat and the reaction being called for by some was ridiculous. Their bias led them to promote inaccurate information that probably put people at risk.

Donald Trump is the greatest conman who ever lived.
Some people think he's Jesus, but he has never been religious.
Some people think he cares about workers, but he has a history of workplace abuses, non-payment of employees, and dozens of lawsuits suing against the rights of workers.
Some people think he cares about immigration. His businesses have used undocumented workers for decades.
Some people call him a business genius. He has been bankrupt three times. No bank in the US will lend him money. He does not sit on the board of any corporation anywhere in the world.
Someone is lying to you. You can be 100% sure that is Donald Trump.

We have to remember that the first biased newscast was in fact Walter Cronkite when he started to add his own bias at the end of the most watched newscast in those days...IMO he never should have done that...and from there it began.
|
|
Walter Cronkite was a newsman in the spirit of Edward R. Murrow.
|
|
All media is bull shit... they all push their own bias one way or the other. Been that way for decades it’s gotten WORSE in the last 10-15 years IMO.
Though some are way worse than others....CNN/PMSNBC are the leaders of misinformation! Unfortunately Fox is going down that road with some of their talking heads....
|
|
^So what media do you think is truthful?
|
|
None of them! That’s the huge issue we face today....
|
|
^ Yours.
HAHAHAHA!
|
|
"None of them!"
So where do think we should get our news and information?
|
|
Wasn't it Randolph Hearst that said, "If I can control the media I can control the World" ?
Think about that for moment.
|

Fox News is disgusting calling the coronavirus a hoax and overhyped and some stupid conspiracy to take down Trump. Then flip flop and lie and say they have taken this seriously from the very beginning. Shameful behavior

^ Ditto!

In free societies, the press serves a key role in checking governmental abuses. That's why freedom of the press is included in the 1st Amendment (1791) to the Constitution.
Hitler, Nixon, banana republics, etc., all attached the press as being "fake news" to cover their abuses of human rights and breaking the law.
Government officals who are constantly attacking the press, from traditionally unbiased sources, are likely doing something wrong.
Trump has been proven to be a conman over, and over, and over again. But like a banana republic, he has his state media (Fox News) that is constantly covering for him. Take this pandemic as an example. Until 8 days ago, this was a hoax conjured up by the Democrats. Now Trump claims he knew it was a pandemic before the experts called it a pandemic. How stupid can his followers be? Pretty fucking stupid.
How do Trump's followers trust a habitual liar? He lied about his father being born in Germany (he was born in NY) when talking with German media. If he can't say the truth about such an easily verifiable fact, what else is he lying about?
I personally met with one of the original producers of The Apprentice last year who said that Trump was essentially broke when they pitched the show to him. His persona was was tightly controlled and manufactured. If it weren't for that show, we wouldn't have this loser conman in the White House. The only thing he's good at is self promotion.
If any of you Trump supporters actually listen closely to anything he says about the Coronavirus epidemic, or practically anything else, he is clearly winging it. He's not a smart person (he has threatened every school he's atrented that he'd sue them if they release his grades). He's a fuck-up who is going to directly cause the deaths of many Amercians. Please pull your heads out of your asses and listen to what this moron says on a daily basis.
I honestly would prefer to not discuss politics even anyone who supports Trump because I feel that you're lost. You've bought into the bullshit. Think what you want, but it work be at your detriment.
|
|
Trump call it a hoax!
He lies here saying "we went early" if that wss close to true we would be prepared for shortages of healthcare supply and other things.
|
|
News has always been biased.
But historically, there were news people who were trying to get facts and would be negative against BOTH sides....it is now heavily leaning left with a significant sources only reporting one way.
|
|
Trump also said it was the hoax!

My comment was for Crane

"The only thing he's good at is self promotion."
To the special kind of stupid people.
"I honestly would prefer to not discuss politics even anyone who supports Trump because I feel that you're lost."
I agree
|
|
Good then shut the fuck up!
|
|
"DEMOCRATIC HOAX "
Yes you are right! He called the coronavirus a democratic hoax.
Thats going to be everywhere before the election and that might sink him.
|
|
Bottom line, if you want to make good decisions during this difficult time in dealing with the Coronavirus, do not listen to Trump.
Trump has proven that he will lie to "give people hope" and cover his ass.
We don't need hope now, we need the truth. Don't buy into his bullshit about cures, treatments, or quick fixes. It will take at least 1.5 to 2 months until the infections start dropping, and realistically 18 months until a vaccine.
Hopefully a testament is discovered in the meantime, but they still need to be properly tested.
There is a severe shortage of medical equipment, including masks, respirators, gowns, and tests. This is his main fuck up because the federal government is supposed to be coordinating the sourcing of supplies yet Trump essentially told states that they're on their own.
The social distancing measures are meant to slow the rate of infection so that the healthcare system can properly handle the sick. Take this seriously, please.
|
|
Mild he did not tell states they were on their own.... what he did say was don’t wait for us to provide the medical materials... he said if you can get them faster by going direct then do so. He also said the feds would support them and the states would be reimbursed for the cost....
His point was be proactive don’t sit on your ass and wait for Us to hold your hand...
There’s the problem a complete misrepresentation by you and many others....
|
|
How would you know what he said. Did you hear it through the MEDIA LOL
|
|
Dumb fuck I heard the fucking interview with my own fucking ears ass wipe!
|
|
@BigOnes
What happens when you ask 50 entities to scramble and source materials all at once? A complete shit show.
The federal government's role is to coordinate the sourcing of essential materials, analyze the areas that need the supplies the most, then make sure those areas get the needed materials to prevent further spread of the virus and the eventual increase of death rates.
The War Powers Act also gives ehe President authority to force private industry to produce needed products like respirators, masks, etc. Who is coordinating that? Who is telkimg each company what to produce and where do send the finished products?
I also heard the press conference and it was embarrassing. He's in over his head and his fuck ups are resulting in the greater spread of the virus and more deaths.

I think a very beautiful meeting is in order between trump and Rand Paul.
Millions of people would think it would be the most beautiful meeting ever!
|
|
I hate to wish bad fortune on anyone, but one of the very few upsides of Covid-19 is that it will probably decimate Trump's maga base.
Additionally, all the idiots that don't believe in evolution are about to learn a hard lesson in natural selection.

Harpooner... you referenced unreliable, unbiased and fake in your post.
The short answer is No. They are not reliable, unbiased and truthful... by themselves. You must read/watch balancing information if you want truth.
In recent years... Fake News has referred to biased and the reporting of false information. I think we all would agree false information is bad. But most of us don’t mind bias... as long as it is our bias.
The problem with bias is that it usually leaves out information that challenges the slant being presented. So technically it is not “fake news” but deliberately incomplete news.
When Trump started referring to “fake news” he was talking about both.
The NYT, FOX, CNN, LAT, MSNBC etc... are not trustworthy in and of themselves.
“Am I my brother’s keeper?” You had better be when it comes to news.

GoballsDeep the dipshit with a fake account rambling more nonsense.
Your opinion on matters aren't facts.
Maybe you should stop popping off online, lose the fake account, and go read a newspaper.
|
|
Pretend it's you at the podium instead of Trump
Invoke War Powers and get shit from somebody?
Don't do it and get shit from someone else?
Give people hope or tell them it's hopeless?
Trump can be a shit show but this is a tough spot for anybody
Hell, Obama got crap from both right and left too even though he was a clean smooth talking black man (Biden's words not mine).

Unlike you Horntwat, i posted relevant information on topic, about 20 posts up.
You got NOTHING but biased opinion but I wouldn't tell you to stop posting.
You can look as stoopid as you like in front of the crowd.
The butthurt is strong with you, snowflake!

@crane_op
Sorry to hear about your mother. I hope she recovers quickly.
I am surrounded by dozens of doctors, lawyers, college professors, engineers, etc. I even know someone from college who is interviewed on TV all the time on all of the news networks. So I have access to information and knowledge that most people don't have.
I probably focus on intelligence too much, but good decisions are made by people who recognize their intellectual limitations. The smarter you are, the more self aware you should be. That isnt always the case, especially when ego interferes with good judgment.
I'm telling you now that Trump's significant intellectual shortcomings and psychiatric issues make him a very dangerous person. He doesn't see his limitations. He thinks too highly of himself when he has clear shortcomings. He famously doesn't read. He doesn't listen to people who have more knowledge than him in areas which require specialized knowledge. He makes decisions based on hunches and feelings. This should be disconcerting to all of us who rely on our government to make wise decisions when it matters. Matters of life and death.
Lastly, I spoke with someone in Washington DC last week who works for the federal government. He said that he was warned about the nature of the pandemic, and the recommendation not to travel and socially isolate, at least 3 weeks before it was disclosed to the general public. He said it seemed like the government was more worried about the stock market's performance than public health. This should worry every American.
I've done everything I can to warn this community about the risks involved with this virus. Trump is who he is. We cant change that. But we should only listen to the medical experts and don't trust most politicians, however I do think that the governors of California, New York, Illinois, and Ohio are all doing everything they can to protect and help the people of their states.

"Dumb fuck I heard the fucking interview with my own fucking ears ass wipe!"
@Jammerman. wyatt, Big Ones my points is your dumb ass got that information you posted from the media. Your dumb ass ranted saying "All media is bull shit". If all bullshit you seem to be buying that bullshit. You are no better than anyone else. I would be shocked if that shit you bought did not come from fake news Fox. lol
|
|
@phlampson. You're entitled to your opinion. But I think it's BS.
Mostly old and people with weak immune systems will probably die
if they get the virus.
|
|
I've spoken to many doctors who are scared shitless about this virus. People in their 20s to 50s suffering badly from it and some are dying. The risks for the elderly and the sick is still greater, but everyone except the very young are at great risk.
