Well, I knew it would happen, but not the person I expected.

My accountant has been diagnosed as positive, and he was already in bad shape to begin with. Took me a decade to find someone who could work with me and my bookkeeping style, and shit.....

....

Hope he genuinely pulls through.

Sorry to hear, hope he recovers.

Wtf is bookkeeping style though?
You talking one set of books for the IRS and one for the bank, lol?
GAAP accounting not working out so you get creative?
Or, you deducting site expenses as entertainment?
Which is perfectly legit, btw

Before you know, it will hitting close to home for everyone.
Trump's ridiculous plan to get back to work by Easter will be derailed before then.
I'll just make it more obvious that he is in way over his head.
And we are seeing why having a business man as potus is not what's best for the country, meaning the citizens.
One of the biggest crisis in our lifetime and a charlatan as president equals disaster.

Close to home for me, well sort of. I have had a couple of conversations with her over there.

A well know Uber / lyft / female truck driver, on the drivers forum, her reg job and dam good at it in Seattle has it bad. So far it sounds like she will pull through , but having to stick a needle between her ribs into her lung to drain the fluid can not be good. They sent her home since there were others at the hospital that have the worse virus of the two so she wouldn't get worse.

It was thinking of post her replies from the forum. But i dunno.

Yep talked to friend today in another state that only recently shut down. A woman in his office had symptoms and tested positive after working there 8 hrs daily before shutdown. They figure everyone in the office and their families was thoroughly exposed, maybe 100 ppl.

So they all quarantine and wait.

My first some one close, but I'm sure not the last...

Agreed with the gentleman above who said we will all soon know someone personally who has the virus, if we are not infected ourselves. My club (Paradise in City of Industry) closed right when all the other bars and clubs in LA closed. I got a job at a grocery chain right away, but it won't sustain me. I got a second job with Amazon (paying time and a half until end of April) and they are in the process of doing my background check so I don't start til April 3. With 2 jobs dealing directly with the public, I'm employed, but it also feels like I'm in a lot more danger. Using PPE, but still...

Interesting comments by SweetAngel (and she looks like a SweetAngel too). There are jobs openings. I hear Domino's 10K, Walmart 150k, Amazon 100k. That is 260k job openings just from those three, that we know of. I also hear a lot of medical/elective medical places are closed, but their staff are being hired by hospitals because of their basic know how.

I’m up this morning because I heard the word my accountant passed yesterday evening.

I’m processing this, but one emotion I will vent is my anger. To all you nay sayers who doubted the danger.

Fuck.
You.

Sorry about your accountant.

Laws and rules are proof People are selfish assholes for the most part. They usually only do the right thing when they have to.

Death rate would skyrocket if enforceable speed limits weren’t in place. Why... because I didn’t plan well and left later than I should have, and me getting to my meeting on time is more important than that mom in a full minivan getting where she is going safely. So I will drive 95 trying to beat the clock.... bam... people are dead.

It isn’t because they don’t believe this virus doesn’t kill... they just believe it won’t kill them... so fuck everybody else... it’s worth the risk.

No doubt they are trump supporters and maybe fox viewers.
They are told the media is your enemy.

Plenty of it is trump and the administration's fault, he wants all the adulation when things go right, gotta take the blame when shit hits the fan. He tried to downplay the risk for months and that is absolutely his fault and there is direct evidence to show it.

It isn't playing politics to point out that a very large number of cases are being traced back to churches and other ignoramuses (e.g. spring breakers) that are not heeding the warnings.

Why would people ignore the warnings? Well, the most obvious explanation would be related to where people get their news. If you're getting your new from Fox News or from Facebook, then you're more likely to be spreading the virus.

For instance, CNN tends to report on the number of deaths in the US every few hours. When I checked Fox news last night, their tally was about a day old. You can call it sensationalism if you like, but these are hard numbers that are definitely not "Fake News". Under-reporting or delaying the reporting of the casualties leads to people not taking the necessary measures to protect themselves and society in general.

Watching CNBC when it was important, all they had on was the Democratic Primaries. I was appalled at the cover up the Media and Youtube (demonitizing any mention of it.) had.

I feel Government failed us, those that took it seriously used the knowledge to sell their stocks.

Update: you saw on one of my rants my best friend from high school and his college age kid were infected from during her stunt at the Huntington social protest. And this post was made in reference to my accountant falling ill and dying from Covid-19.

Just found out the pool guy and a member of the property management for my community also tested positive today.

@angler

Did I say they were on their death bed?

Let’s see... no, not there. No, not there either. Aaaaaaand oh wait, is that???? no.......

No, out of the people around me who have contracted the bug, one is dead. Someone important, none the less, his loss is a big deal personally and professionally.

Have I said that they are sick and infected? Yes.
I don’t know the well being of our poorly guy and of the manager of the community outside of what has been shared. I do know my best bud and his kid have the sore muscles, the fever and difficulty getting a full breathe. When the news first broke in late January I posted how it affected my overseas suppliers, and that I have personal connections to medical front line here in So Cal and in Michigan.
I do hope they get better, and that people protecting us stay safe.

Covid-19 is not an abstract for me, it’s devastating people I know. This BuLLSHIT about not taking this seriously. Fucking A, I even mentioned how hard line measures overseas were the ones creating positive results, and some on this board laughed. And still I see irresponsible people posting absurdities and supporting concepts that will get people killed.

It is a mistake to think it is only old people who are in danger. Younger people are dying too, especially if a person has diabetes, obesity, heart or vascular problems, cancer etc. We do need to start opening up the economy soon but at the same time we need extensive and more massive testing. Important to know who has it. Especially asymtomatic people. Sorry for everyones losses. Take this seriously.

I found this yesterday and the data valid within the last week. It is COVID-19 fatality by age group in 4 countries.

This is the metric that matters. Everyone gets sick alot of stuff all time... But what are the odds I die from it?

US not included but I bet our statistics dont differ by much.
