Although the media keeps saying the vast majority will be ok and only those with preexisting conditions or the elderly have to worry, I can tell you that we have seen several people in the ICU, sick as shit, and they were otherwise healthy 30-40 year olds. Don’t think that you can get this, not get sick, and develop immunity to it. It may just very well kill you. I’m surprised women are still posting on here and seeing clients. That’s crazy. If you worked in a hospital and saw what I saw, you would stay home.

I was told that a 35 year old woman who lives in the Beverly Center/The Grove area, who has vaped for years, had trouble breathing and was spitting up blood. She was given an inhaler and was told to go back to the ER if she has trouble breathing.
Her boyfriend, who also has it, has no symptoms.

Other than the health impairment connection, there's gotta be a genetic component also.
Whole families have been wiped out, next door neighbor has it and feels nothing.
The research into the aftermath is gonna be very interesting

But U can't say everyone in HX/world is going to get it.
There's some where of a 30-70% of contracting it if ur out in public exposure etc.
The likelihood of me meeting a guy that's been home for 2 weeks self quarantining and only gone to the grocery store 1 time. And same goes for me meeting him. Prolly significantly reduced the likelihood or even chances of risk of getting it
Now if ur 1 of these ppl on the board wall bike path and u have offspring a wife and there playing outside in parks with others etc and u come out.. well u can't say others in ur home picked it up.
For the most part single men n woman here are ok.
And if u have more than 1 living in the home. Then they should all be doing the same.
Though it's a big mystery. The symptoms. The signs. The contagion.
We will go thru it together

And truly truly chill and cut back on store trips n outside eating etc.

Here is a first hand account of a women in WA on the Uber drivers forum. Yesterday at 10:07 PM
So I guess I lost my sense of smell and taste very early on. Probably one of the first symptoms but I wasn't aware of any connection to the corona virus until much later when another member asked me if I experienced it. At the time I lost my sense of smell and taste, I had no other symptoms and was not even aware I was sick. So I would say it's the very first thing to experience.
The fluid in your lungs. This corona virus is different from pneumonia which as everyone knows produces a very wet cough. This corona virus, it feel like you went and got a weight disc from a barbell, and placed it on your upper chest. It's there always. You have to breathe with that weight. The cough only comes if you exert yourself. Like walking up stairs. There is no tickle in the back of your throat or urge to cough. The cough happens because your muscles in your chest spasm and push the air out, making you cough.
When you cough, nothing comes up, you only lose air, this causes your chest to spasm again and force more air out. This is the type of cough it is. After several gasps to try and refill your lungs with air, finally a real cough clears your airway some. And then it starts all over again.
Yeah I didn't make the connection. I was in the restroom with a coworker around February 20th and she sprayed a perfume I detest. I was all prepared for the stink-fest but it never happened. I never smelled it. I didn't question it, I was just very pleased. As for the lost of taste...well I had been eating Funions around that time, and I assumed the loss of taste was due to that. Those dang things scrape the hell out of my tongue..
No one knew anything but rumors on February 20th. Now, even a sniffle is suspect..

Lung infections take longer than a few weeks to heal. There's scarring that happens with most pneumonia's. Corona virus is a serious lung infection even without the pneumonia. I wouldn't be looking at full capacity til late summer. I had pneumonia before (by itself, no coronavirus) and it took 7 months before my lungs fully recovered.

The problem is that you can be infected and not know it, or one of your clients can be infected and not show any symptoms. It appears to affect each person differently.
But if it happens to affect you badly, it can very painful and severely affect your breathing (where your lungs fill up with fluid and blood, and, worst case, it can kill you).
And you and your clients can spread it to your friends and family and not know it, which is why it is spreading exponentially. I don’t think it is unreasonable to project that one or two infected providers can potentially infect hundreds of people.
This virus is highly contagious.

There have been worse, contagious viruses and the world didnt come to a stand still. Theres something more going on here. And thats the thing i worry about, getting it and passing it on to more vulnerable people. So i am staying away from vulnerable people. But if theres no vaccine or medicine to make you better are we going to stay locked up until they do? A year from now? I myself feel theres more to living than just being alive. I really dont think i want to live being a prisoner. I am concious and i am paying attention. And its pretty shitty to make acrossthe board statements . Becuz believe me a provider seeing one or 2 people a week is in contact with a lot less people than the clerk at 7/11. Sure you arent as close but thats the point you can get it from inanimate objects. If this is how we are going to go down i would rather do it doing what i love. Stay safe, sheeple. Oops, people.

Gina, I'm not even saying that you shouldn't welcome getting COVID-19. It isn't the fault of women on HX. Any guy who needs to avoid COVID-19 would be an idiot for seeing a woman on HX.
The authorities didn't implement the lockdown because they are worried about you or I getting COVID-19. The vast majority of us are going to be fine. The authorities implemented the lockdown because the health care system cannot handle 100,000 people flooding into the emergency rooms at the same time.
Let's say that only 1% of people with COVID-19 need medical attention. One percent of one million people is ten thousand people. Let's put it this way: If only one in four Californians gets COVID-19, that would mean that you could fill up the Los Angeles Coliseum with everyone who needs medical attention at the same time.
The authorities want us to get COVID-19 and to recover from it so that everyone is immune. The authorities want us to develop what they call herd immunity. The vast majority of us will be fine. The vast majority of us should be happy to get COVID-19 and get over it. The problem is that millions of vulnerable people will end up dead in the process.

I get it. You don't have to be smart to be a provider (or a client). Dumb people are all around us, and it is those people who I worry about because many of them are risking all of our lives.
If you're not responsible enough to do the right thing now, it is not reassuring that you would do the right thing if you happened to have something else that you can transmit to others. Do I need to spell that out for you?
The number of deaths from this virus is going to get really bad over the next couple of weeks. Maybe that will scare even the dumb and irresponsible to take this more seriously.

There is a thing called Stable Datum. Which is the same as one's personal belief's. Very difficult to change even when several facts are presented. There are questions one can ask of another to get them to look which usually makes them feel uncomfortable and not want to look. Generally cause it keys them into negative stuff. Everything Nigel said is true. Don't just read the headlines of stories. Go to reliably informative websites like CDC, WHO, HHS, the NY Times, LA Times (sometimes). Visit the http://apnews.com website, which is the bottom line media source for all newspapers and reliable websites. There is no fiction there, no matter what some members of the Trump cabal say. (And it should be said, his reference to those malaria drugs, which were widely called fake, may actually help people with the most severe case.)
It is not fiction to say everyone may get the virus. People walk around with antibodies to all kinds of virus strains, which includes thousands of different flus. That means you got the flu, got sick, got better, and now your immune system has a defense against it.
The numbers being released are confirmed cases. The lack of tests - the government was six weeks late to this party - is criminal considering the ratio of confirmed cases to actual cases is 1 to 10,000.
Eventually this will sweep the planet. Expect gory stories from those countries with dense populations and little in the way of health services. The cities in the US with the most cases are big cities were transmission is easier, and also places with heavy international traffic. People on ships at sea have all become exhibit A for the way the virus kills.
I don't know many people here, but I was a regular hobbyist in late '90s and again in 2006-ish whowent to a few socials and found the people to be smart, thoughtful and passionate.
Actually, one good thing that may come from this is that people who want to "date" here will begin to have first neetings via skype or face time, which is a great way to screen people and ease any first meeting tension.

The thing that most of the girls on here (and some of the guys) are missing is that a "pause" in activity will actually preserve this site for the future.
Imagine if a large outbreak happens to this community and hundreds of people who are still active are affected. What do you think will happen to this site then?
Being safe now will protect the site for the future when this whole thing is over. Yes, it will be painful and people who rely on this site for income will certainly struggle, but the alternative is much, much worse in the long run.
