damn! AP & the Joker seem to be connected mentally somehow.
Now, I liked it better than the critics. It doesn't follow the typical Hollywood script. Although it does drag on a bit, I liked the dark scenes of Joker.

It was bleak and probably not as profound as those who participated in it think it is, but it does raise an interesting point.
What happens when the 99% say fuck it, the system is rigged, I've got no skin in the game and I'm never going to get anything so let's just burn it all?
Not exactly what's happening in HK, but a little civil unrest isn't always a bad thing.

The Joker is a good movie. I would say 4 out of 5 stars. Not sure if I would see it again. River Phoenix was great as he was in Walk the Line.

Saw Joker today.
If you like Phoenix ... you might like it.
I didn’t like it. 5/10
The storyline took to long to develop and really didn’t go anywhere.

Ok. Good storyline and political statement/theme of rich vs poor. Doesn’t come close to Heath Ledger. Character development was waaaaay toooooo looong and boooioorrrring. We get it. He’s a bit mentally deranged and could use some help. Don’t cut social services for the mentally ill and give to the lazy and down and out because I decided to cut class from my free education.
Can any DC nerds confirm whether the Joker is really Bruce Wayne’s brother from another mother or was he really adopted and abused by his mother and mother’s boyfriend?? More character development of Thomas Wayne would have been better. Did he really knock up Penny Fleck and force her not to talk about it or was Penny really delusional. It’s hard to tell since politicians never lie and never have extra marital affairs, right???
Due to the lack of action and real character interaction, I’d snooze on this. Too many unanswered questions. Let’s see a real Joker wreaking havoc on Gotham along with some his Arkham buddies. An origins story of Bain and Robin would be better. Batman is also known as the Dark Knight. The movies should be DARK and horror(ific) to the the point of an NC-17 rating.
I’d watch The Dark Knight a 1000 times before I watch this joke of a Joker movie again.

My son LOVED Joker. He saw it twice. Really liked the in-depth character development, the connection to mental illness. This is his favorite Joker.
He must get his taste from his mother.

I don't know why all the praise of Joaquin Phoenix in this role...
Jim Carry could have rolled out of bed, not showered, and stepped right into that role. The whole movie I thought the Joker WAS Jim Carrey!
BTW, I think Jim Carrey is a dirty POS...no disrespect to Joaquin.
