Schiff allegedly 'read' from a transcript of the telephone call and it was not factual. Nancy jumped on the Schiff bandwagon and supported his statements. It is called slander.....
". oral defamation, in which someone tells one or more persons an untruth about another, which untruth will harm the reputation of the person defamed. Slander is a civil wrong (tort) and can be the basis for a lawsuit."

I watched it live... if I remember correctly, Schiff said something like, “This is the essence of the call.”
I am sure most people watching did not get Mr. Schiff’s subtle disclaimer... but it was there.
A law suit seems silly to me. But that is the world we live in.

But if what he said was factually incorrect and defamatory, he could still be on the hook for slander.

Public figures have a difficult time in these types of lawsuits.
People can really “characterize” things any way they want... even in absurd, ridiculous and inaccurate ways.
Saying “President Trump said...” is way different than saying “In essence he said.” Even if it mischaracterizes what he said.
And parody and misrepresentation happens every day.
You just don’t usually hear it that plainly in a congressional hearing.

Does the speech and debate clause cover this issue? (Slander, libel, defamation) It seems to refer to arrest to deny participation.
I just read the wiki. So... I am an expert.

Can someone tell me his win/ loss record for lawsuits since he took office.
Yeah yeah I know he won the office of presidency, but cmon, a reall winner would need to sue in the first place
