Read that the sodium is much higher in the plant based products.
But they contain fiber and have about 10% fewer calories.
Not a great trade off.
So... unless I am really environmentally conscious and care a lot about cow farts hurting the ozone... at this point I’ll be sticking with beef

I would stay away from foods trying to be something that they are not. Artificial is usually worse for the processing and chemicals. Beef and fat are good for you unless you believe in the failed nutritional recommendations of the past

The environmental consequences of beef production are significant (its not just cow farts as some would have you believe). The fake meat doesn’t provide any real health benefits, but over time I think the industry will figure out how to make improvements. I could be wrong, but as production of these meat alternatives scales up, it could significantly slow the destruction of tropical rainforests and decrease CO2 emissions everywhere.
By the way, I’ve cooked both the Impossible Burger and the Beyond Meat burger at home. Impossible is better in my opinion and tasted just like beef when cooked medium rare.
For those concerned about GMOs in the Impossible Burger, it is produced through a process that uses GMO yeast to create plant heme, but there aren’t any actual GMOs in the burger. Besides, most of the corn and soy from the US is already GMO, so we’re already consuming it.

San Diego Airport has been studying how to handle sea level rise because its elevation places it at risk. Small, islands from Alaska to the South Pacific, have been inundated. We’re not seeing any major impacts in the US, but as sea level rises we are already seeing storm surges from hurricanes and coastal storms doing serious damage.
