Well, there was a vote on this..take away all the extra taxes the state charges per gallon and you get a per gallon price in line with the national average.

Yep, it is the idiots here that think the tax increase has caused the pump rates! It is the oil companies greed! Years ago fuel hit $4 per gallon, well before a tax increase. Fat Americans keep buying gas guzzler SUV's, so the oil barons know they will pay more for their precious fuel.

the GSA has gas pumps to fill up all those cars in the motor pool lot. they pay ZERO.
because they don't buy gas like the rest of us.

Amazing how many people on this have no understanding how the high gas prices affect the economy... many people travel for a living via automobile. High gas prices do affect in a very negative way those folks...
Along with cost of transporting food and other goods to market... wake the fuck up and take an economics class and gain an understanding how a nation’s economy works and then tell them to take an Uber, taxi or other mass transit source of transportation....

And you don't think Uber and Lyft won't raise their transport fees once the drivers start bitching and complaining about the high cost of gasoline...or the drivers stop driving and Uber has no one to drive...they must raise what they pay a driver....so increase in gasoline will affect everyone, even if they don't drive......
