I believe it’s more hype and emotion than actual damage ... but republicans felt the same way about Obama. He just didn’t give them as many openings as the President is giving the Democrats.

Dude... I agree with almost everything you said, except about the charges sounding “more solid.” Saying, “more solid” is my point.
In my mind I have no doubt there was quid pro quo implied. I do have doubt there will be enough evidence to convince 2/3’s of the Senate.
The idea that those types of things are unique to Trump.. and that they will be able to “prove” his motivation is where the challenge will be. What he did was either legal or illegal hinges on his motivation. That is a tough one to prove. The house impeachment action is a political exercise. They can vote on what they think happened.
The Senate has a different threshold to meet. It’s a legal proceeding. An actual trial. I think the impeachment effort falls significantly short in the Senate which means this is all a political show... that I think will ultimately backfire for the Democrats.
